Did ‘The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants’ Inspire Hallmark’s ‘Wedding Veil’ Trilogy?
For the first time, Hallmark has created a crossover trilogy starring Lacey Chabert (Christmas Waltz, Mean Girls), Autumn Reeser (90210, Christmas Under The Stars), and Alison Sweeney (Days Of Our Lives, Open By Christmas).
In this trilogy, three college friends find a nineteenth-century lace wedding veil at an antique shop. Legend has it, that whoever has that veil in their possession will find true love. There is also an entire mystery behind the provenance of the veil, as well as a painting.
Could The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants possibly have inspired The Wedding Veil trilogy? Hallmark’s answer may surprise you.
Did Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants Inspire The Wedding Veil Trilogy?
Loveuary is here and Hallmark is airing a crossover trilogy called The Wedding Veil Trilogy. Already the first two movies, The Wedding Veil, and The Wedding Veil Unveiled have been a success.
According to E News!, the first two movies have been such a success that these two movies have had the highest non-holiday movie ratings in “over a decade.”
Therefore, they asked Hallmark’s senior vice President Elizabeth Yost about this “passion project.”
The background is, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is one of my favorite movies and I had been looking for a way to co-mingle our talent in a movie. So when this concept came to me, it was the perfect candidate.
Lacey Chabert Brought Wedding Veil Trilogy To Hallmark
How did Hallmark’s Wedding Veil Trilogy come to be? Turns out, Lacey Chabert’s producing partner, Beth Grossbard, had this idea three years ago. This was something that the All Of My Heart star always wanted.
It was a real dream of mine to be in a film with some of the other ladies. And it was always the number one fan question: Will you guys ever have some sort of crossover? Will we ever get to see some of you together? This was the perfect vehicle for that!
The Hallmark Wedding Veil Actresses Bonded
In Hallmark’s Wedding Veil trilogy, all three actresses are in each movie. However, each movie has a different actress in the lead, while the other two are there in a supporting role.
Although the trio knew each other in a work sense, this movie forever bonded them together. Like the three friends in the movie, they enjoyed a lot of fun times together.
On Wednesday, Alison Sweeney wrote on Instagram a bit about the dynamics of this magical Wedding Veil trio of actresses. Just as in the movie, only one of them had to try something for the other two to join in.
This is a #winewednesday with cheesecake post. We had a scene in which we were ‘required’ to eat cheesecake. 😉 Starting around 10am. 🍰 The truth is, @thereallacey & I were holding strong and then @autumn_reeser took a bite in one take. And … the look on her face 😋 .. we caved and had to just give in enjoy the delicious treat. So, the wine in this photo is some sort of dreadful non-alcoholic wine. (I guess grape juice isn’t a thing anymore.) but the cheesecake is legit – any New Yorker would be proud of! Such a fun morning filming with these two. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed filming these movies. Can’t wait to share #TheWeddingVeil Legacy with you all Saturday night!!
Don’t miss The Wedding Veil Legacy on Saturday, February 19, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel.
