’90 Day Fiance’: Is Yara Zaya’s Family Safe Amid Russia-Ukraine Conflict?
90 Day Fiance star Yara Zaya shared an update on her family. Understandably, she’s been concerned about them amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Russia is set to attack the neighboring country any day now. Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to go to war with Ukraine.
Yara from the TLC series spoke out about the Russian aggression and impending war that is about to threaten her native country. She has been worried about her family since she’s thousands of miles away in the U.S. Yara debuted on the reality series with her husband Jovi Dufren. Tensions continue to mount at the Ukrainian border.
90 Day Fiance star didn’t want to leave Ukraine
When she first appeared on 90 Day Fiance Season 8, Yara didn’t seem interested in going to the U.S. with Jovi. A K-9 Visa was the last thing on her mind. But, Jovi couldn’t see himself living there. Yara loved her life in Ukraine and didn’t want to leave her family behind. She wasn’t sure how she was going to handle a new life on her own.
Jovi’s parents assumed that Yara wanted a green card and a free ticket to the U.S. They were shocked to learn that she threatened to move back to Ukraine amid her issues with Jovi. She only stayed in America to be with Jovi and to start a family. The 90 Day Fiance couple agreed to stay in the U.S. with their young daughter, Mylah.
Since then, Jovi and Yara had their share of ups and downs. Yara didn’t like it whenever Jovi would drink and party with his friends. Yara also didn’t like living in the center of New Orleans. She was figuring out how to start a new life in the U.S. The reality star has strong ties to Ukraine and is very close to her family.
Yara Zaya shares an update on her family
For several weeks now, Russia has threatened to invade Ukraine. President Joe Biden sent troops to the border to help with the problem. However, Putin resisted attempts from both the U.S. and Ukraine to deescalate the situation. Instead, he plans to continue with his efforts to attack.
Yara is concerned about her family. She admitted in a previous Instagram post that she is “scared” and “worried.” The 90 Day Fiance: Pillowtalk star shared another update on social media. She posted a selfie of herself with the caption: “My family is all in a safe place, I am worried about my country.”
90 Day Fiance fans took to the comment section to share wishes and prayers. Hopefully, Yara’s family will stay safe during this ongoing conflict. Per Associated Press, Russia currently has 150,000 troops at the Ukrainian border, as Putin tests his country’s nuclear weapons. This conflict will make it difficult for Yara to visit her family, and her native country may not look the same again.
She hasn’t visited Ukraine since she left in 2020. Obviously, this is a scary situation for her right now. Check back with TV Shows Ace for more news and updates on your faves from 90 Day Fiance. In the meantime, 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days comes back from its hiatus on Sunday, February 20 at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
