‘Love Is Blind’: Fans Feel Season 2 Misses The Mark With Representation
The first five episodes of Love Is Blind Season 2 are available on Netflix. In case you didn’t know, Netflix is splitting up the season so new episodes will drop over the next few weeks.
But after five episodes, we already know which couples got engaged and made it out of the pods — and who left single. A lot of fans aren’t happy about the representation. Keep reading to find out why.
Just a heads up — this article will contain spoilers from the first five episodes of Season 2. Read at your own risk!
Love Is Blind Season 2 did cast a few plus-sized women — but we rarely saw them
We did see a variety of different body types in the pods. We saw two plus-sized women, Chassidy and Hope, on dates and they seemed delightful and charming. However, that was the last time we saw them. Love Is Blind barely made an effort to show them in the lounge areas.
Many fans online feel that Love Is Blind and Netflix are pretending to be diverse, but just aren’t delivering. Just like in Season 1, the couples featured in Love Is Blind feature women with leaner body types.

One of the women to make it out of the pods, Danielle, discusses how she used to be heavy but lost all the weight. She describes how her weight made her feel insecure and she still struggles with body image issues even though she’s now much thinner. Fans don’t want to discredit Danielle’s journey to self-acceptance, but still point out that it would be nice to see diverse body types on the show.
Are any of the couples going to last this season?
Fans aren’t wild about the body-type diversity this season, but that’s not where the complaints stop. Plenty of fans also feel irritated with how toxic some of the men seem to be, particularly Shayne and Shake.
In the pods, Shake notoriously tried to get women to reveal their weight by asking if he would be able to lift them onto his shoulders. Meanwhile, Shayne couldn’t decide between Natalie and Shaina. So he decided to string them both along before eventually proposing to Natalie.

Love Is Blind Season 2 episodes 6-9 will drop on Netflix on Friday. The wedding episode will premiere the following Friday. But fans don’t think there’s a lot of hope for the six couples.

At the end of the day, no one can beat Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton. But who knows? Maybe one couple will surprise us in the end.
