Ivy Jane Seewald, the daughter of Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben, was spotted at a holiday gathering in a strange-looking costume. This sparked a discussion about how Jessa dressed her two-year-old daughter. Now, we know more about the dress she was wearing and who wore it first in the Duggar family.

In case you missed it, Jessa recently shared a video from the Duggar family’s ugly Christmas sweater party. While it’s an ugly sweater party, it’s turned into an ugly outfit party these days.

At the Duggar family’s annual ugly Christmas sweater party, the two-year-old girl wore a princess dress topped with a shawl-like layer. After seeing her outfit, Duggar snarkers on Reddit pointed out how strange it looked. Some thought the top layer was meant to be a “modesty panel,” while others wondered if the toddler just threw on a few items from a box of dress-up clothes.

Now, more information about Ivy Jane Seewald’s ugly Christmas sweater party outfit has surfaced. It looks like this princess dress has been a part of the family for years.

How old is Ivy Jane Seewald’s costume dress?

On Reddit, Duggar snarkers have discovered that this isn’t the first time one of the kids has worn this same princess dress. Someone was able to dig up a photo of Mackynzie Duggar wearing the same dress in 2014. Mackynzie is the daughter of Josh and Anna Duggar, and she’s Ivy’s cousin.

Ivy Jane Seewald will turn three in May, while Mackynzie Renee Duggar is now 12 years old. So, there’s a big age gap between them.

Somehow, it looks like the dress made it through several Duggar kids and grandkids between Mackynzie and Ivy. It’s possible that some of the girls born between these two wore the dress and then passed it on to the next granddaughter in line.

More Information

Of course, Duggar fans know that the family is big on saving money. One of their values is to “buy used and save the difference.” So, it may not come as a shock to see clothes circulating among the grandchildren.

One Duggar snarker argues, “There is nothing wrong with hand-me-down costumes… Not everyone can afford to always buy new.”
