Bachelor contestants roast Clayton Echard, Shanae
Comedy Central helped comedy ‘roasts’ gain popularity among the masses. During the roasts, jokes are made at the expense of one individual. However, Bachelor recently turned the event into a free-for-all to include both the lead and other contestants.
During Season 16 of The Bachelorette, the male suitors famously roasted frontrunner Dale Moss with the help of famed comedian Margaret Cho.
Canadian comic Russell Peters headlined the roast group date on the latest episode of The Bachelor. The contestants took digs at lead Clayton Echard and Season 26 villain Shanae Ankney.
However, one contestant kept the roast going on social media.
Marlena Wesh keeps the roast going on TikTok with Jesse Palmer diss
Wesh was first up during the Season 26 roast, but it seems she didn’t get all of her jokes out on TV. A few days after the episode aired, she took to her TikTok to roast several of her fellow Season 26 contestants.
She also shared a joke at the expensive of Jesse Palmer, a Bachelor Nation alum who stepped into the hosting role after Chris Harrison’s shocking exit.
Fan account @bachelornation.scoop shared clips of some of Wesh’s TikTok roasts.
In one diss, she joked that Palmer hosted Season 26 with his “stunt dummy,” Clayton.
Bachelor Nation fans have noticed a striking resemblance between Palmer and Echard.
Bachelor Nation blog calls out Marlena’s racially charged roast of Season 26 contestant
Did Marlena’s comments about another contestant cross the line? That’s what the fan account questioned. @bachelornation.scoop shared a clip of the since-deleted roast, accusing the franchise of covering up racist behavior once again.
“Enough with [the franchise] sweeping racist comments under the rug,” the account wrote on the video.
In the deleted TikTok, Marlena seems to make several racially charged comments about contestant Sarah Hamrick. Us Weekly transcribed the commentary as, “Sarah, my little Asian persuasion, OK? One thing’s for certain and two things for damn sure, if Clayton ends up with Sarah, at least we know he’s gonna get a happy ending.”
In fact, some fans were already rooting for Marlena Wesh to be named the next Bachelorette. However, will her racially charged roast affect her chances?
