Is This The End For ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’? See Latest Clue
Fans of the NCIS franchise have seen a number of spin-off shows come and go over the years. Now, there have been hints that NCIS: Los Angeles is slated to go off the air. Read on to learn what has been revealed.
The ‘NCIS’ Franchise Over The Years
The original installation of NCIS aired in September 2003. It follows the Major Case Response Team in Washington, D.C. The team works together on various crime scenes and frequently takes part in murder investigations. Over the years, it has gained the title of television’s most-watched drama series. Its spin-off shows have been wildly popular too.

Last year, NCIS: New Orleans came to an end after seven seasons on the air. During its time on air, it became the second most-watched drama on CBS and the fifth most-watched drama on all of television. In February of last year, shortly before they announced that the New Orleans branch of the show would end, NCIS: Hawai’i was reportedly in the works. It aired in September 2021.
NCIS: Red was another spin-off, but it was relatively short-lived and not as popular as some of the others. It was based on the Los Angeles sector of the franchise. This spin-off just didn’t work though. It only aired for one season before CBS removed it from their programming schedule.
Is ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ The Next To Go Off Air?
NCIS: Los Angeles is currently the longest-running NCIS spin-off on-air, currently in its 13th season. It isn’t the first NCIS spin-off, and it probably won’t be the last. Right now, it is unclear whether the Los Angeles sector of the show franchise will continue on or not.
Los Angeles follows a few special agents who help handle national security threats, high-profile murders, and undercover cases. It is currently the fourth most-watched series on TV and the second most-watched drama series. Rumors that the show was coming to an end started after one of the stars shared an image on Instagram with a rather cryptic message. One of the hashtags used is one that CBS often attaches to programs on the way out.

Eric Christian Olsen, who plays Marty Deeks on NCIS: Los Angeles, shared a photo of himself in character and used the hashtag #thefinalseason? in the caption. He followed up with #jk and #butyouneverknow. Now fans of the show are reeling about what this may mean for the future of the Los Angeles spin-off. CBS execs have yet to confirm or deny whether the show is being renewed or not. If they stick to historical patterns, fans can expect official renewal announcements mid-year.
For now, you can still catch NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS at 9 p.m. EST on Sundays.
