Jen Arnold shares a picture of herself and her husband
Jen Arnold shared an older photo of herself inside of a hospital. Her husband Bill was behind her clapping as she rang a bell. There were also several members of her medical team in a line clapping while she rang the bell. Now, for someone who has never had someone close to them battle cancer, you may not completely understand the photo. Why is Jen ringing a bell in this picture?
Turns out, ringing a bell is a way of marking a milestone during cancer treatments. Cancer patients will ring a bell at the end of each round of treatments as well as any other major milestones. For someone battling cancer, getting to ring the bell is a very big deal.
What type of cancer did Jen Arnold have?
As The Sun reminds us, Jen Arnold was diagnosed with rare stage three cholangiocarcinoma. It was the result of a failed pregnancy in September of 2013. The disease formed in the cells in her body intended to be the placenta for the baby. In addition to being a rare cancer, it was an even rarer situation because it was found in a little person.
Jen Arnold’s skeletal dysplasia and difficult past surgeries made treating cholangiocarcinoma a real challenge for her.
The TLC star endured intensive weekly chemotherapy treatments through the end of 2013 and into 2014. She endured these treatments while also providing care for the children she had recently adopted, Will and Zoe. Battling and recovering from the disease was long and challenging for the TLC personality. In 2014, she went into remission. She was monitored closely as there was an 85 percent chance of recurrences.
Despite everything working against her, Jen Arnold battled cholangiocarcinoma and won. Fast forward to 2022, Jen Arnold is cancer-free and healthy.
