‘MAFS’ Rachel Gordillo & Jose San Miguel Jr. Officially Divorced
MAFS couple Rachel Gordillo and Jose San Miguel Jr. are officially divorced after announcing their split about a month ago. The couple had a bit of a rough go of things in the beginning. However, on decision day they decided to try and make things work out. So, their plan was to move in together again but fate had other plans. Rachel and Jose decided before they took that big step again to separate for good.

Rachel Gordillo and Jose San Miguel Jr. announced they were going to file for divorce in December 2021. At the time they released a joint statement. It read, “After much thought, we have decided that we are better off going our separate ways.” They continued, “It’s a decision we do not make lightly, but after some back and forth and trying to make this marriage work we know this decision best serves our future.”
Their message concluded by saying, “The MAFS journey taught us a lot about ourselves and what we both need in a partner. We are grateful to all those who stood by us throughout the last eight-plus months.”
Today, Rachel went to Instagram to confirm their divorce is final. She shared a photo of herself standing in front of huge blue wings. She captioned the photo saying, “And just like that… I’m officially divorced! I will never regret my very public marriage. Lessons were learned and strength was gained.”
Rachel continued saying that if one comes out a better person then how could one regret their decisions. She went on to say that while going through the Married at First Sight process she was asked what divorce meant to her. Rachel said she used to believe it meant failure. However, her view on that has changed. She doesn’t believe she failed. Rachel said, ” I gave it my all but in the end I had to choose myself and that’s ok.”
So far, Jose hasn’t commented on their official divorce.
No plans to date just yet
Rachel recently revealed when she thinks she will get back out in the dating world. She made a funny video about it where she indicated she really didn’t know but believed it probably wouldn’t be anytime soon. She captioned the post, “The way 2021 is ending… dating sounds like more of a 2023 kind of activity.”
Rachel also revealed that her friendship with Brett, Johnny, and Myrla is some of the best things to come out of 2021. So, while her marriage didn’t work out, she gained lifelong friendships.
