‘MAFS’ Season 13: Rachel & Jose File For Divorce, What Went Wrong?
Everyone thought Married at First Sight couple Jose San Miguel Jr. and Rachel Gordillo had a chance. It turns out they are giving up on their marriage. The news comes after they had been married only eight months. Remember, they had decided to stay together on the finale. Then, afterward, they broke up only to reunite before the reunion episode aired. Now, it’s over for good. What happened?

Married at First Sight Season 13 couple Rachel and Jose are over for good. They had a rocky relationship from the beginning. People shared about their marriage ultimately coming to an end. Rachel and Jose decided to remain married on decision day. However, several weeks later they broke up. Then, they decided to reunite and keep trying to work on their marriage.
Rachel and Jose were planning on moving back in together soon. However, prior to doing so, they decided their marriage is just not meant to be. They broke up again and this time decided to file for divorce.
Rachel and Jose gave a joint statement to People revealing their decision to divorce. They said, “After much thought, we have decided that we are better off going our separate ways.” They continued, “It’s a decision we do not make lightly, but after some back and forth and trying to make this marriage work we know this decision best serves our future.”
The now exes continued on with their statement saying, “The MAFS journey taught us a lot about ourselves and what we both need in a partner. We are grateful to all those who stood by us throughout the last 8 plus months.”

Rachel also made a statement on her Instagram about their divorce. She shared a video of them together and began her speech with a quote. She said, “Maybe it won’t work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.” Rachel continued, “I can definitely say that being #marriedatfirstsight was the biggest adventure I’ve ever been on. It does sadden me to know that we didn’t work out in the end but it is for the best. What we had was real and for that I will always treasure it. We have grown and learned so much about ourselves. Hopefully this journey helps us become better in our future relationships. I wish José the best. At this point in my life I’m glad to say I’m truly proud of myself.”
Rachel and Jose met on Season 13 of the show. They met just as they were getting married. They vowed to try and love one another for better and worse. The couple went on their honeymoon then proceeded to move in together to see if they were compatible. Scientists who matched them together believed they would make a good pair.
It turns out they weren’t great for one another.
Time will tell what the future holds for them both.
