Clayton Echard Apologizes To Elizabeth, Takes Full Responsibility
Monday night “shrimpgate” continued and Shanae Ankney continued to cause more drama. Elizabeth Corrigan took the brunt of Shanae’s antics while she was there. Then, Shanae’s focus shifted to Genevieve and Sierra. Fans saw Clayton Echard eventually send Elizabeth home on The Bachelor. He did not see everything that was going on when he wasn’t around. Now, he’s watching what really went down and is taking full responsibility.
The Bachelor Clayton Echard apologizes to Elizabeth
Viewers at home watched as Shanae made fun of Elizabeth having ADHD. Her comments upset not only the ladies in the house but also fans all over the country. Unfortunately at the time, Clayton Echard had no idea what was going on behind the scenes. Now, as he’s watching his season play out on television, he’s seeing what was really going on.
Clayton tried to get Elizabeth and Shanae to see eye to eye but that didn’t work out. Shanae continued to play the victim and accused Elizabeth of being a bully. In the end, Clayton decided to believe Shanae for the most part and sent Elizabeth home. Little did he know at the time this wouldn’t be the end of the drama surrounding Shanae.
Now that Clayton has had the opportunity to see everything that was really going on when he wasn’t with the ladies, he has different thoughts. In fact, Clayton went to Instagram to share a heartfelt apology to Elizabeth. In that apology, he takes full responsibility for what happened.
Clayton said, “I’m sorry Elizabeth for what you’re going through.” He went on to say, “I wish I could have seen what was happening when I wasn’t there.” He said he knew that she and Shanae had issues but believed at the time it was all just petty drama. Clayton continued, “I would have sent Shanae home immediately for making fun of you being neurodivergent, had I known.”
He went on to say watching has not been fun for him mainly because he now sees all the damage he caused. Clayton said he really did mean well but some of his actions weren’t always the best. He said he now sees this because of the repercussions of his decisions.
Clayton concluded by saying, “I can promise you I’m learning from the mistakes though and am doing everything in my power to come out the other side a better man.”
Elizabeth’s thoughts
Since all the drama began, Elizabeth has been receiving tons of support from fans all over. She’s remaining strong and trying to get past the negativity Shanae caused. Elizabeth is also trying to bring more awareness to mental health issues. She shared a quote last night before heading to bed. Elizabeth said a quote came to mind and it’s very true. Her quote was by Dr. Seuss. It read, “They’ve all gone to bed in the beds of their choices.” Elizabeth concluded saying she went to bed proudly.
She even hinted she will be back in some form within Bachelor Nation. Perhaps Elizabeth will head to Bachelor in Paradise?
