Things went down Monday night between Elizabeth Corrigan and Shanae Ankney. Drama brewed between them to the point that Clayton Echard stepped in. He tried to moderate a conversation between them and it did not go well. In the end, Elizabeth was still accused of bullying Shanae. However, Shanae is the one who had been slamming Elizabeth for having ADHD. Now, since their debacle is settled, Elizabeth is sharing where she stands with Shanae today.

Elizabeth Corrigan reveals where she stands with Shanae

Bachelor Nation shared what Elizabeth Corrigan had to say about everything that went down and where she stands with Shanae today. Recall, Shanae was ruthless about Elizabeth having ADHD. She pretty much made fun of the mental illness. Elizabeth received tons of support from Bachelor Nation.

Elizabeth also said Shanae’s bullying “was a disservice to the neurodivergent community.” She noted how the lack of mental health awareness already exists without Shanae poking fun at disorders. She said, “ADHD is often misdiagnosed and undiagnosed specifically in women and people of color, which is like many other conditions that are discounted.”

Elizabeth hopes that Shanae watched the season back and learned from what she did and how she acted. She also noted that she has not heard from Shanae since filming ended. Elizabeth also said that she has remained close to several women on the show and none of them have heard from Shanae either.

Her ADHD diagnosis

Elizabeth also chatted with the Click Bait podcast hosts about her diagnosis of ADHD. She said, “When we were growing up, ADHD was pretty wildly overdiagnosed. I think as a result of that, people saw ADHD or OCD as a character trait, like if someone is very easily distracted or they check their door twice. There’s a spectrum of severity, and ADHD affects people in different ways. So when my ADHD was belittled, it was really a reminder to me of how difficult it was to be different while growing up.”

Elizabeth shared that it wasn’t just ADHD that troubled her. She also suffered from “sensory integration issues.” She was taken out of school to attend occupational therapy. Elizabeth said she was diagnosed when she was in first grade. Her parents made her take medication for it and Elizabeth couldn’t understand why at the time. It made her question her identity and somewhat forced her into isolation.

She’s hoping her time on the show and the new awareness will help more get educated on mental illness.

What did you think about the drama between Elizabeth and Shanae?
