This news came just two months after his split from Raquel. On December 5, 2021, the former couple took to Instagram to announce that they ended their engagement.

They addressed the reason for their split on the two-part Vanderpump Rules Season 9 reunion. Raquel admitted that she had “nightmares” about their wedding day. Now, she’s enjoying her newfound freedom. Unfortunately, she got backlash for it, and she’s not apologizing for worrying what others may think of her.

Raquel Leviss announce that she’s having an “unengagement party” in her recent Instagram post. She shared a photo of herself sipping wine from a phallic straw. Then, she shared a clip of herself popping a huge diamond ring balloon with the caption, “Bon voyage!” Raquel made it clear that she was enjoying her newfound single life.

Both Raquel and Scheana shared their fun moments on social media. The events took place on the night of the Pump Rules Season 9 reunion special, which showed Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy talking about what led to their breakup. Some fans called her “selfish” and “mean.” They thought it was insensitive to her ex, who looked distraught on the Bravo show. Little do they know, he was happily holding hands with someone else a few nights ago.

Then, Raquel Leviss followed up with an Instagram Story that showed her notes app. She titled the note, “Morning thoughts.” The SUR-ver didn’t want to feel guilty about enjoying her night with her friends. “I remind myself that how others react to what I do [is] not my place of concern,” Raquel Leviss started her note. “Trying to change other’s perception of me is a form of control. Some people will think what I did last night was cruel and heartless. I did what I did to support MY NEEDS and my needs only. I am learning how not to feel remorse for putting myself before others.”

She followed up with Scheana Shay’s video of hers popping an engagement ring balloon. The reality star made it clear that she won’t be guilted into having fun. Now, Raquel wants to focus on herself. Seeing her ex-fiance’s latest moves made her realize it’s time to move on as well.

James Kennedy dating rumors inspired her to move on

Raquel Leviss also addressed James Kennedy’s rumored new girl. On Monday, January 24, he shared a clip of himself with a mystery woman via his Instagram Story. He celebrated his 30th birthday a few days early in Las Vegas with his friends and the mystery woman. Raquel noted that his recent actions made it easier for her to focus on herself.

“And after seeing how quickly James has moved on, I think I’m allowed the freedom to act on whatever my heart desires,” Raquel Leviss added. “I’m no longer taking into account other people’s concerns before my own. Those days are dead and gone. Hello, 2022.”

The model had to focus on her own needs at that moment. Watching her breakup play out on television was nerve-wracking for her. So, she needed to be surrounded by her close group of friends. Raquel and James got engaged in May 2021 but ended it seven months later.
