Jesse Palmer Wants This ‘Bachelor’ Twist To Come Back
Jesse Palmer wants this Bachelor twist to come back. Plus, he reflects on his time on the franchise and where he stands with his ex. Keep reading for all the details.
Jesse Palmer’s epic Bachelor fail
It’s been almost 20 years since Jesse Palmer starred as The Bachelor. His season was notorious for many reasons. Most notably, forgetting the names of the women pursuing him.
During an awkward rose ceremony moment, he gave a rose to a woman named Katie. However, he meant to give it to a contestant named Karen.
After briefly conferring with then-host Chris Harrison, both women ultimately got roses that night.
In an interesting turn of events, Jesse Palmer took over as host of Season 26 of The Bachelor after Chris Harrison left the franchise in 2021.
His first advice to Bachelor Clayton Echard was to remember the names.
Which twist does he want back on franchise?
Jesse Palmer may have been the first lead to forget a contestant’s name, but his season had several other firsts. The former football player was a recent guest on Us Weekly’s Here for the Right Reasons podcast.
He discussed his 2004 season and how that helped him advise Echard. The Bachelor Nation alum recounted how his landmark season had many firsts –
“[I was the] first Bachelor to give a first impression rose, first Bachelor to have a spy, first Bachelor to have a woman leave the show and then come back,” – Jesse Palmer, Here for the Right Reasons podcast.
In his opinion, the franchise should consider having another spy join the house. During his season, his best friend’s wife pretended to be a contestant and gave him details about what was going on in the house.
It’s been so long, he said, that new contestants wouldn’t suspect anything.
Where does Jesse Palmer stand with ex, Jessica Bowlin?
At the end of his season, Jesse Palmer gave Jessica Bowlin his final rose, but he didn’t propose. The two split for good shortly after filming. He announced in late 2021 that he secretly got married to model Emely Fardo.
He revealed on the podcast that he hasn’t spoken to his ex in a long time. “It’s been a minute,” he said, before joking that his Brazilian wife wouldn’t appreciate him communicating with his ex. “We have knives in our house,” Palmer quipped.
