Kate Gosselin Has Surprising New Job & Life
Kate Gosselin, who was once regularly in the spotlight, is settling into her new, normal life. At one point in time, Gosselin was raking in $250,000 per episode of TLC’s Kate Plus 8. While she’s not making that much money anymore, Gosselin seems to be leading a fulfilling life. Here’s a look into the former reality television star’s day-to-day life now.
Reality TV Show Star To Living A Quiet Life
Between 2007 and 2017 Gosselin was a sensation. As mentioned above, she earned a quarter of a million dollars for every episode of Kate Plus 8 that aired on TLC. On Tuesday, the now 46-year-old was spotted casually pumping her gas at a station in North Carolina. She now resides in Troutman, N.C., and has settled into a fairly quiet life there. She owns a four-bedroom 3,562 square-foot with a pool and jacuzzi home near Lake Norman. Gosselin purchased the home for $750,000 in March of 2021.
Kate took a bit of a loss when she and John sold their marital home. The six-bedroom home in Pennsylvania, which sat on 23 acres, sold for about $1.85 million. That was approximately $35,000 less than they bought it for in 2008. After the divorce, Gosselin wanted a completely fresh start. Now, she has a delightfully normal life, which is likely a welcome change of pace for her.
What Is Kate Gosselin Doing Now?
When she was spotted pumping her gas, she was wearing an everyday outfit you would put on to go run errands and she shared a few smiles with her dog. Gosselin wore a t-shirt, leggings, and slides. At one time, she’d made the “I need to speak to the manager” haircut popular. Now, Gosselin wears her hair in a messy bun.
Gosselin last appeared on television in 2019 for a TLC spin-off where she tried to find love called Kate Plus Date. The show only lasted six episodes and, since then, she’s been completely out of the spotlight leading a relatively normal life. A source close to Kate revealed that she’s been struggling with money though. She hasn’t been working and completely retired from being on TV. On June 30, 2021, she received her nursing license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing. So, Kate’s money troubles probably won’t last forever.
It is hard to believe that the sextuplets many people watched on television are now nearly 18 years old. Hannah and Collin remain in the primary custody of their father, Jon. Kate and Jon only currently communicate through their lawyers and it has been that way since their split in 2009. Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel, and Leah will turn 18 on May 10, 2022. Twins Mady and Cara are both 21 years old and living in New York. Both are attending college there. Although they grew up in the spotlight, it seems they are settling in to lead fairly normal lives themselves and so is Kate Gosselin.
