Did Raquel Leviss Dump James Kennedy For His Controlling Ways?
Raquel Leviss is not crazy about James Kennedy’s controlling ways. Last month, the couple announced that they ended their engagement. Their relationship came to an end while filming the highly anticipated Vanderpump Rules Season 9 reunion. Even their co-stars didn’t see it coming.
Yet, some fans could see the red flags in their relationship. For example, James wouldn’t allow her to go under the knife to correct her nose. He told her that he’s the one who has to look at her for the rest of his life. His controlling behavior towards Raquel was front and center in the latest episode.
Bachelorette party blues
On the Tuesday, December 28th episode of Pump Rules, James had a meltdown about Raquel’s bachelorette party. For some reason, he couldn’t stop thinking about straws with male genitalia on them. He told Raquel’s sister that he doesn’t want her bachelorette party to have any male strippers or phallic party favors. But Raquel claimed she’s not that kind of girl and she wants to have something classier.
Still, James couldn’t stop thinking about it. Many of his co-stars were concerned about his controlling behavior and even confronted the DJ about it. Though Raquel made it clear that she won’t have a tacky bachelorette party, James informed her to have a more “classy” engagement party. He also shut down any other ideas before hearing them out.
“Definitely no strippers,” James told Raquel. “I just don’t want it to be like, a trashy bachelorette party.”
Raquel explained to her sister that her fiance tells her what to do when it comes to “certain things.” But that she doesn’t let him “get in the habit of being controlling.” The SUR-ver doesn’t like that James thinks he knows it when he’s just telling her what to do. Later on, in the show, James talked about his relationship issues with Lala Kent, who later brought it up to Tom Sandoval.
Raquel Leviss had enough of James Kennedy’s controlling ways?
James came head-to-head with Brock Davies and Sandoval. Things got heated when the U.K. native explained that he’s not a controlling person. But Sandoval wasn’t convinced. James explained that he just couldn’t stand seeing her surrounded by adult toys at her bachelorette party.
“I am not controlling. I’ve been controlling in the past with past girlfriends, right?” James tried to explain to Sandoval. “But I am not a controlling person, fiance [or] boyfriend to Raquel.”
He also blows up at Brock, who speaks to him outside his event. James was having a good time DJing at the event. The next thing, he’s talking to Brock about his bachelorette party woes. James claims that his issues with Raquel’s bachelorette are about more than silly party favors.
James and Raquel ended their engagement in November. They announced that they split since Season 9 wrapped. Raquel even gave back the ring to James while filming the reunion episode. She was the one who called it quits, but it’s unclear why.
Do you think Raquel ended their engagement because of James’ controlling ways? Do you agree that he’s too controlling? Why do you think they broke up? Sound off below in the comment section.
