Meghan King Shares Mental Health Update After Cuffe Owens Split
Meghan King broke her silence since her shocking split from Cuffe Owens. The couple ended things after two months of marriage. In a series of Instagram Reels, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum shared a mental health update with her fans and followers. She admitted that she’s been struggling for some time now.
These days, Meghan is focused on herself. She also shared her self-care regimen and workout routine. While she admitted that she’s been struggling post-split, she said that she’s learning to love herself. In the weeks leading up to their split, Meghan has been finding ways to deal in a healthy manner.
RHOC alum admits she suffers from “anxiety and depression”
She’s tackling mental health since the abrupt end of her third marriage. Prior to her marriage to Joe Biden’s nephew, Cuffe Owens, Meghan King was previously married to Brad McDill from 2007 to 2011 and Jim Edmonds from 2014 to 2019. The former couple shares three children, Aspen, 3, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 19 months.
Over the weekend, Meghan took to her Instagram Reels to post a series of clips. She admitted that she has been struggling with “anxiety and depression” after the news of her split. Meghan posted a screenshot of the thoughts she has when she’s struggling with her mental health.
“I have some anxiety and depression… This is how it manifests,” Meghan King wrote on her Instagram Reel on Sunday, December 26.
The former Bravo star followed up with a selfie of herself with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. She admitted that she’s also experiencing “hair loss” lately. She also has scars on her face from picking at her skin. These are just some of the reactions to her mental health struggles.
“Hair loss around my temples… Picking at my face,” Meghan wrote in the caption.
Meghan King shares her self-care journey
For now, she’s focusing on herself. She wants to learn how to love herself again. Despite these challenges, Meghan shared that she’s “still me” and being gentle with herself as she struggles with her mental health. Some of her self-care habits, including getting a good night’s sleep and hot yoga.
On Monday, December 27, Meghan took to her Instagram Stories to address her split. She revealed that the media asked her to comment about “the state of my marriage.” Meghan admitted that she’s “rattled” and calls the divorce “profoundly devastating.”
“This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I’m shocked and saddened by the way things turned out,” Meghan King wrote. “I am moving forward with my children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams.”
She asked the media and her follower for “grace and gentle kindness” during this difficult time.
