Storage Wars stars Barry Weiss is the most unique person that reality TV fans have ever witnessed. His outlandish personality makes for TV gold. Barry is called “The Collector” among his castmate and fans of the show. He’s often known for his hilarious one-liners, colorful personality, and wealth of antique knowledge when it comes to bidding lockers and identifying treasures.
Barry left the show in Season 4. He joked that he wanted to become a “professional slacker.” He had no bad blood with his co-stars on the show. He admitted that doing the show was a “blast,” but he “kind of wanted to leave while it was still popular.” The boisterous personality has laid low for years, aside from his appearances at auto events and his return for Season 14.
Some Storage Wars fans may be shocked to find that he has a famous godson who also works in the entertainment industry.
Storage Wars Barry Weiss’ godson revealed!
Most people know Jesse James, who was married to A-list star Sandra Bullock. Others may recognize him from Monster Garage on the Discovery Channel. The series lasted between 2002 and 2006. It showed him and his crew customizing vehicles using their expertise and knowledge.
Jesse’s father was an antique collector. When he was just 7 years old, he got a small dirt bike. Per Biography, Jesse became a “natural tinkerer.” Jesse’s experience working on cars was related to Barry’s passion for being an avid car collector. This came out of their godson-godfather connection. What’s also interesting is that these two men were also in a presence on television.
What happened to Jesse James?
Jesse James briefly dated L.A. Ink star Kat Von D after ending his divorce with Sandra Bullock. The two dated on-and-off from 2010 to 2011. It ended in a similar way, with a cheating scandal. Jesse later appeared on Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump. He ended up in third place.
The reality star also starred on his own Spike TV show titled Jesse James is a Dead Man, where he would perform death-defying stunts. He has since laid low from the Hollywood spotlight and operates out of his private workshop, Jesse James Firearms Unlimited, according to My San Antonio. Now, fans can watch him on Monster Garage, which just returned from its 14-year hiatus on discovery+.
