Kim Kardashian Says She Regrets Telling Kanye To Remove This Accessory
Kim Kardashian revealed that she regrets telling her former husband Kanye West to remove this accessory that was important to him. As fans know, the rapper loved former President Donald Trump. He often wore the signature red “Make America Great Again” baseball cap at his outings and concerts. Kanye even met Trump at the White House where they shook hands and discussed their successes.
Even Kim attended that monumental moment with her then-husband. She sat down for an exclusive interview with journalist Bari Weiss. The Skims founder expressed regret over asking Kanye not to wear his hat anymore. She obviously had good intentions since his political beliefs were so polarizing.
Why Kim Kardashian wishes she didn’t ask Kanye to remove his “MAGA” hat
The 41-year-old reflected back on the time she asked Ye to remove it. Of course, it didn’t stop him. Kanye’s been seen with the hat before and after their divorce. The reason why she has regrets is because of cancel culture, which she calls “ridiculous.”
“Why should he take that [MAGA hat] off if that’s what he believes in?” Kim Kardashian asked, as quoted by Page Six. “Why can’t he wear that on TV? Half of the country voted for him, so clearly other people like him.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star doesn’t think it was fair to him. She feels that everyone has every right to be themselves, even when it comes to their political beliefs. Kim says if she worried about what other people thought of her, then she wouldn’t be who she is to this day. Yet, fans recall when Kanye asked Kim to change her wardrobe at the start of their relationship.
“If I worried about every last thing that someone said and I had to try to change it, then I would never be me,” she continued. Anyone wouldn’t be them!”
The KKW Beauty founder claims she’s not a “rule breaker.” It’s just the backlash that had an effect on her. That led her to ask him to remove his hat. Kanye even claimed that he no longer supported Trump.
Felt “very nervous” around her ex-husband
Kim wasn’t sure how to tackle this delicate situation. After all, Kanye is a walking time bomb. People just don’t know what to expect when interacting with him. She admitted that she “was very nervous” to ask him to remove the “MAGA” hat. Still, she stuck to her guns and followed through.
“I remember other people were around and it became a thing where he wasn’t going to go on because he wanted to be who he is,” Kim Kardashian explained. “I’m very neutral, but that night I was very forceful with him, and argued with him like, ‘You have to take that hat off.'”
She then called cancel culture the “most ridiculous thing.” The entrepreneur noted a time when people on both sides at dinner “discussing their thoughts on it — in rehabilitation and freedom of speech.” Kim admitted that she’s “never really been into cancel culture.”
Her comments come after the 44-year-old shared in a now-deleted Instagram Story on Thanksgiving Day that she “did not like me wearing the red hat.” Kanye prayed for God to bring them back together. Since then, Kim filed papers for the court to declare her as legally single. She filed for divorce in February after seven years of marriage.
