Raquel Leviss, James Kennedy Split Confirmed

Vanderpump Rules stars Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy confirmed their split. This comes amid the rumors that the two ended their engagement after filming ended for Season 9. This sudden news has already come as a shock to fans of the couple. Most were rooting for James and Raquel to make their love work.

However, there were some that were a little skeptical about their relationship. Earlier on in the season, Raquel revealed that she got her nose done. Then, James accidentally hit it when he kissed her. Some fans didn’t believe Raquel’s story, knowing about his anger issues. They feel that the model could do better.

Vanderpump Rules couple got engaged this year

Raquel and James got engaged in May. The DJ popped the question with a Coachella-themed proposal. He invited the entire cast of Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules. James even named the event after Raquel herself.

Coachella always had a special place in their hearts. It’s the same place they went to time and time again throughout their relationship. With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, their Coachella plans were null and void. So, James decided to throw his own Coachella event on the very same grounds that the Arts & Music Festival takes place.

Before then, the couple has had their shares of ups and downs. Some Pump Rules fans would say that Raquel and James are similar to former cast members Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright. They even went through their own cheating scandal. Yet, Raquel and James were set on not becoming that couple.

The former couple faced most of their issues on the Bravo show. James admitted to battling addiction to alcohol. In July 2020, he celebrated one year of sobriety, where he credited Raquel for his everlasting support. However, in Season 9, James has a hard time dealing with his castmates drinking, including Raquel.

On Sunday, December 5, Raquel took to Instagram to share a selfie of herself with James at the Vanderpump Rules Season 9 reunion. The cast filmed the special on Friday, which first led to the split rumors. In her post, she confirmed that the couple went their separate ways. The 29-year-old and the 27-year-old apparently ended things while filming the ninth season reunion.

Raquel returned her diamond ring to James on camera. She was also spotted without it while having dinner later that evening.

“After these 5 years wonderful years we had together, we decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement,” Raquel wrote in her Instagram post. “We love each other very much, but we aren’t in love anymore. We want nothing but the best for each other so please keep any thoughts positive. Sending love.”

The VPR cast member turned off comments on her post. James shared the same photo and statement on his respective Instagram account. This comes after Lala Kent and Randall Emmett ended their three-year-long engagement. The Vanderpump Rules Season 9 reunion should be an interesting one, and so should the following season.
