Jessica Batten Says ‘Love Is Blind’ Experience Was ‘Traumatic’
Needless to say, Jessica Batten definitely was not the most popular castmate on Love Is Blind. The reality star crashed and burned during the show’s premiere season and things weren’t much better at the reunion special.
In fact, Jessica would even go as far as to say her experience was completely traumatic. Read on to see what she said.
Jessica Batten is just now finding her own happiness after Love Is Blind
As we’ve said before, Jessica Batten is now engaged. Things didn’t quite pan out with her onscreen fiance Mark Cuevas, but that’s okay. Both of them are now happy and in love with other people now. But Jessica revealed she struggled to start dating again after Love Is Blind premiered on Netflix.
“After the show wrapped, I didn’t date for quite a while just because it was a very traumatic experience,” she told Us Weekly. “More than anything, I was just trying to duck and cover, and fly under the radar.”
But just before the pandemic began, she found love with a doctor! His name is Ben McGrath and he seems like he’s really good for Jessica.
“Every time I have any type of news, it’s like he’s out there in the media one-upping me,” she told the publication. “I don’t think he’s doing that on purpose, it just happens to be the case [but] it’s kind of funny.”
Dr. Ben even has two children from a previous relationship, so Jessica gets to experience the joys of motherhood.
“[They’re] so sweet,” the reality star said in a previous interview with Us Weekly. “They love everything and everyone, which made it easy for me. “It’s funny because we all share the same birth week. They bookend me, so we all have this weird kindred spirits thing going on.”
Things were just as traumatic at the reunion special too
If you caught the Love Is Blind reunion special, you saw all the awkwardness that went down between Jessica and her castmates. The reality star really seemed like she wanted to put all the drama behind her, but her costars Amber Pike and Matt Barnett weren’t really interested in mending fences.
She later revealed Amber and Barnett even blocked her on social media. But even so, in hindsight, Jessica is happy she had the courage to show up at the reunion at all.
“It was definitely difficult to see a lot of it played back, but I have to say that I’m really proud of myself for coming full circle and having the courage to walk in there,” she told ET. “It was a big decision for me to go back on the show.”
