‘The Voice’ Holly Forbes Explains Why She Is Bald
The Voice contestant Holly Forbes quickly became a fan favorite. From the moment she sang during her blind audition, Kelly Clarkson turned her chair around. She knew she wanted the aspiring singer on Team Kelly. However, she was up against some tough competition.
Kelly wasn’t the only one who wanted Holly. All four coaches turned their chairs for her. Ariana Grande blocked John Legend to prevent him from getting her on his team. Holly performed Elton John’s “Rocket Man” during her blind audition. Ultimately, she chose Kelly even though everyone wanted her on their team.
Holly Forbes had quite the journey
The singer has had an interesting journey on the show up to this point. At the time, Holly Forbes wanted to be on Team Kelly so bad. She recalls listening to the American Idol winner when she grew up. The Voice contestant explained to the coach why she chose Kelly.
“I grew up with you, Kelly Clarkson, so I’m going to go with her,” Holly said.
However, that didn’t last for long. Kelly cut Holly during the Knockout Rounds. Once again, Ariana Grande and John Legend find themselves at odds over her. They both tried to steal Holly at the same time. It made for an intense moment for the contestant.
Holly chose to join Team Ariana. She has now made it to the Top 10 on The Voice Season 21. Over the course of her journey, she performed the following songs:
- Blind Auditions – “Rocket Man” by Elton John
- Battles Round – “Sunny” by Bobby Hebb
- Knockouts – “Superstar” by The Carpenters
- Live Playoffs – “Torn” by Lis Sorensen
- Top 13 – “The Dance” by Garth Brooks
- Top 11 – “Alone” by iTen
Now, there are fans who want to know more about one of The Voice’s top 10 finalists. They’ve taken to social media and Google to learn more about her past. Some of them even wondered why the singer is bald. Read on to find out more.
The Voice top 10 finalist reveals why she’s bald
As The Voice fans know, Holly Forbes is a mom of two. She has a seven-year-old named Violet and a one-year-old named Olivier. Her kids have been watching her journey in the singing competition. They hope that their mom will make her biggest dreams come true.
Holly explained why she’s bald. She opened up about the health issues she’s struggled with ever since she was a little girl.
“Around 11, I started having seizures,” The Voice finalist said, as quoted by Parade. “The doctors put me on medication that made my hair brittle and patchy. I ended up losing my hair. For a kid, it’s not easy being bald. At that time, I listened to music on repeat in my room, singing, and it just boosted my confidence.”
Now, Holly feels confident in her own skin. Her self-esteem soars when she’s signing on stage. She never let her hair loss or health issues get her down. Instead, she used this challenge to take chances in her life.
“I just want to be myself and let America know what kind of artist I am,” Holly continued. “We got to have a hand in picking our songs, so really what I wanted to do was to show America who I am and just try to give the best performance and to be true to myself as an artist.”
