Heather Thomson Confirms Ramona Singer’s Racist Remark, Slams Bravo
Real Housewives of New York star Heather Thomson confirms she personally heard Ramona Singer’s racist remark she came under fire for as we reported earlier this month. The Bravo personality has gone on to slam Bravo production for not even looking into the alleged remark.
Disgusted Heather Thomson has cut ties with the Real Housewives franchise
According to The Sun, Heather Thomson has also hinted at why she decided to cut ties with the Bravo franchise in a few of her recent interviews. Turns out, the TV personality thought she signed up to be a part of reality TV. But, she discovered the franchise was largely fake and scripted. So, she decided to cut ties. Or, at least, that’s the picture she’s painting in her recent interviews.
Heather Thomson revealed during interviews with Page Six that she joined the Bravo cast because she wanted to be a part of something she believed empowered women. She quickly changed her mind when that wasn’t what being on the show offered.
She explained: “They’re showing women behaving badly and at each other’s throats.”
Still speaking to Page Six she added that she could “no longer be a part of a ‘machine’ that rewards this – or of scenes she alleges are fake.”
Ramona Singer’s alleged racist remark was the last straw
Turns out, what really sent Heather Thomson running from the hills was the racist remark that Ramona Singer came under fire for. Heather claims that she personally heard the racist remark her co-star said. And, she tossed some subtle shade at Bravo for not doing anything about it.
Allegedly this is what racist remark Ramona said: “This is why we shouldn’t have black people on the show.”
The alleged remark was directed toward Eboni K. Williams.
Ramona Singer, however, denies ever making the remark and claimed it was a “terrible lie.”
Heather Thomson, however, claims she was there when Ramona said the racist remark. And, she recalls being very “freaked out” by the comment.
Bravo said there was an investigation. To my knowledge, they’ve never offered or required any conscious bias or sensitivity training to the cast or producers on the show ever. I was never asked. Do they know and care about the effects [the show] has? It’s nonsense. They are not interested in people, they are interested in money.”
Eboni K. Williams filed a complain, Ramona continues to deny
RHONY fans that have been following this story know Eboni filed an official complaint. She was frustrated with the way the investigation was handled. She did not think the network did enough about the situation. Ramona, however, continues to deny the comment was ever made. Moreover, she admits she’s disappointed that even after her name was cleared by the investigation her name continues to get dragged through the mud.
Ramona Singer hasn’t been in the good graces of Bravo fans for a while now. In fact, they’ve been calling for her termination since August.
