Joy-Anna Forsyth Skips Duggar Family Thanksgiving
The Duggar family’s Thanksgiving festivities are underway, but Austin and Joy-Anna Forsyth are missing the gathering this year. On social media, the Duggars have revealed that they are preparing all of the food for their large get-together. But Joy-Anna has already left town for a different Thanksgiving feast. So, what’s going on?
On her Instagram stories this week, Joy-Anna has been documenting her trip to Texas to celebrate Thanksgiving. She’s posted a few snaps from the time she, Austin, and their two kids, Gideon, 3, and Evelyn, 1 left Arkansas. Now, she’s enjoying some Forsyth family time. In one snap, she explains, “On our way to Texas for Thanksgiving with all of the Forsyths!”
Later, the family made a stop at Lowe’s for some last-minute “sock gifts” for the family. While they were there, Gideon got to run around and get his energy out. Evelyn, however, was still pretty sleepy.
After they got to the Forsyths’, Joy-Anna shared an update the next morning. Everyone was already up and getting the food ready. Evelyn got to be a part of the action and helped as Joy-Anna cut up the potatoes.
Is Joy-Anna Forsyth distancing herself from her family?
We don’t know exactly why Joy-Anna is out of town for Thanksgiving. It’s totally possible that they have it worked out so they spend some holidays with the Forsyths and others with the Duggars. But there’s also a chance it has something to do with family drama.
As fans know, Josh Duggar is going to trial in his child sexual abuse material case next week. With all of the drama surrounding the scandal, Joy-Anna might be stressed out and might not want to spend time with the family.
Some other Duggar family members have hinted that they are separating themselves from Jim Bob and Michelle. So, maybe Joy-Anna and Austin are doing the same. This could have to do with Josh’s case or other family drama that hasn’t yet surfaced.
While we don’t know why exactly Joy-Anna and Austin left town for the holiday, they don’t seem to be interested in a Thanksgiving feast with Jim Bob and Michelle this year.
So, are you surprised to see that Joy-Anna Forsyth isn’t participating in the Duggar family’s holiday festivities? Do you think it has to do with Josh or her parents? Let us know your predictions in the comments section below. And, for even more Duggar family news, come back to TV Shows Ace.

Many couples split holidays up so both families get to be with children and grandchildren through holidays. Maybe Joy’s husband likes to have some time with his family.
