JoJo Siwa Is Perfectly Happy With Her ‘DWTS’ Journey
Many Dancing With The Stars Season 30 contestants did exceptionally well. From the beginning of the season, many believed that JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson would take home the Mirrorball Trophy. That didn’t quite happen and Daniella Karagach and Iman Shumpert won instead. but the young pop star is fine with the way things turned out.
In recent interviews, JoJo reveals she’s just fine with second place and she’s the happiest she’s ever been.
JoJo Siwa says she’s able to stand a little taller after her time on DWTS
Since many people believed JoJo Siwa would win DWTS, many wondered if she would be disappointed with second place. But this isn’t the case at all. Her experience on Dancing With The Stars really helped her come out and live life to the fullest.
“I want people to know that where I’m at is I’m happy,” JoJo told Teen Vogue. “And I feel like I’m the best me I’ve ever been.”
It’s clear that the 18-year-old formed a deep friendship with her pro partner, Jenna. After breaking up with her girlfriend during Disney Week, Jenna helped JoJo work through her breakup. Through all the hardships, she’s come out stronger than ever before.
“Even just the way I carry myself now, from week one to now is a completely changed version of me,” JoJo told the publication. “I used to walk with my chin low, my shoulders hunched over, hiding within myself. Now I stand a little taller with my chin a little higher, looking a little prouder. I learned that I used to just go chaotic versus being controlled chaotic, and having controlled energy, not just a lot of energy.”
The young dancer has her eyes on the road ahead
In previous interviews, JoJo Siwa said that she hoped to use her time on Dancing With The Stars to transition into more grownup roles. After all, even child performers grow up too.
When Teen Vogue asked what she wanted her career to look like, JoJo answered that she wants to age as she ages.
“I think I’m in a great spot right now. I love what I look like, I love what I feel like, and I just want to keep that momentum,” she said.
At the end of the day, she’s thankful for the time she got to spend growing up on Dancing With The Stars and hopes she got to pave the way for other dancers too. JoJo and Jenna may have been the first same-sex couple on the show, but they likely won’t be the last. Other pros said they would like to dance with members of the same sex too.
