Lindsay Lohan Makes Her Big Return In A Christmas Rom-Com

Lindsay Lohan is making her big return to acting. On Friday, November 12, Netflix shared the first photo of the actress who stars in her very own Christmas rom-com. Move over Candace Cameron Bure. Lilo is the next former child star to become the new Queen of Christmas.

Her new role has fans buzzing. It’s the 35-year-old’s first role in years. In the new photo, Lindsay goes for a stroll in a small-town setting alongside her co-star Chord Overstreet. She’s seen wearing a dark green jacket with a baby blue sweater and jeans. Meanwhile, the Glee alum wears a green plaid jacket over a white T-shirt.

Both of them are seen wearing scarves. The photo shows the two smiling as they walk through the snow-covered scene.

Lindsay Lohan is returning to the streaming platform

News of her new movie first broke in May. Netflix announced the details of the new rom-com. Lindsay Lohan will star in the film as a “newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident,” according to Netflix’s statement.

The film will be released during the 2022 holiday season. This is the first role for Lindsay Lohan in two years. She last starred in the horror movie, Among the Shadows. The Parent Trap star first teased her return to acting while ringing in 2020 with New Year’s Eve Live co-hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.

“I’m managing my sister, so I want to really focus on me and everything that I can do in my life and come back to America and start filming again, which I’m doing something soon in this new year,” Lindsay Lohan said at the time. “And, you know, just taking back the life I’ve worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys.”

Whatever happened to her acting career?

Lindsay Lohan was at the top of her game in the mid-aughts. She was one of the many funny young ladies who prowled around Hollywood. However, the grips of the town impacted her emotional and mental health. Soon, Lindsay became known for her struggles rather than her acting career.

She made the transition from a Disney star to tabloid fodder. After a string of legal run-ins and rehab stints, Lindsay Lohan eventually retired from the limelight. The Mean Girls star even moved out of the country for a quieter life.

She didn’t have the best upbringing. That led to a difficult time in Hollywood. Directors stopped working with her since she wouldn’t show up to the set on time. Since taking a break from acting, Lindsay Lohan became an entrepreneur and reality star.

MTV filmed her short-lived series based on her Mykonos nightclub, Lindsay’s Beach House. It only lasted one season, and the venue closed down. Lindsay moved to Dubai, where she dabbled in other ventures. Lindsay Lohan has also expressed an interest in returning to music too.
