Travis Scott: Bizarre Astroworld Festival Rumor Debunked
Travis Scott made headlines for his Astroworld Festival. On Friday, November 8, eight people died from a crowd surge. Since then, bizarre rumors and conspiracy theories have emerged. One report claimed that an individual injected needles into people’s necks.
Others assumed that the concert was a Satanic ritual. While Travis is to blame for the crowd surge, there is no proof that the music festival was something demonic. Most of these rumors and theories have been circulating on social media. Now, police debunked one of them as the investigation is ongoing.
Astroworld tragedy not caused by injection
Some people assumed that the concertgoers were under the influence of drugs, which is probably what led to the deaths. Authorities confirmed that the assumed needled injection did not cause the crowd surge at the Travis Scott festival. Reports claim that an individual was running around and injecting random people with a needle. However, police debunked this rumor in the days following the incident.
The Houston Police Department held another police conference. They wanted to keep the media and community informed on the ongoing investigation surrounding Travis Scott and the festival. A series of reports claimed that an unknown person injected festivalgoers with an unknown substance. This led some to believe that drugs were at play.
Others think the needle injection is what led to the mass stampede and deaths. Houston Police Chief, Troy Finner, confirmed to the reporters that the rumor is not true. He said that it came from “bad information.” Most of the wild rumors and conspiracy theories originated from social media sites like Twitter and TikTok. The department did reveal that they had one report of a security guard who was allegedly injected in his neck while trying to restrain an individual at the event.

The security guard fell unconscious. Paramedics gave him NARCAN to help revive him. Police use it to treat a possible drug overdose. This led to the rumors that individuals were under the influence and caused panic.
Travis Scott was responsible for stopping the concert
The individual did not inject the security guard in the neck. Officials confirmed that the person punched him out. This is an interesting turn of events, considering that the department confirmed that the security guard was initially treated for a needle prick. They described the injury as an injection at the time.
During the press conference, the Houston Police Department claimed that it was the responsibility of Travis Scott and Live Nation to end the concert. The rapper performed for about a half-hour after the crowd surge and reported deaths took place. There are questions as to why no one stopped the festival after the stampede took place.
Travis Scott is already being targeted for not stopping the show, which could’ve saved lives that night. The police department will continue the investigation. Live Nation and Travis Scott are cooperating with authorities in this matter. Victims and their families sued both the hip-hop artist and the production company for their matter in this tragedy.
