‘General Hospital’ Chaos: Ingo Rademacher’s Instagram Wreaks Havoc
The latest social media posts by some General Hospital cast members signal tensions rising among the typically tight-knit GH family. It appears Ingo Rademacher (Jasper “Jax” Jacks) is at the center of this, and it’s a multi-issue situation. Spoilers suggest Rademacher has departed General Hospital, and these posts certainly seem to signal that to be the case.
Rademacher Has Been Quite Vocal
For the past several months, Rademacher has made his feelings about the COVID-19 vaccine known. He is against mandates, which reportedly has come to a head with a vaccine mandate for General Hospital cast and crew members now in place.
According to General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) via Twitter, the COVID vaccine mandate is officially in effect. She noted, “as of Nov 1st entry to #gh requires proper vaccine card. No exceptions.” In subsequent tweets, she told fans ABC was handling any potential medical exceptions to the mandate. When asked directly about Rademacher and Steve Burton (Jason Morgan), she wrote it “is not my place to expound on that” and that people would need to ask them.
The General Hospital Actor Isn’t Holding Back
Rademacher’s Instagram page shows he’s remained committed to his position. Over the weekend, he shared a photo and noted he “will stand with you to fight for medical freedom.” He added hashtags referencing “woke,” “no mandates,” and “medical freedom” as well as “coersion is not consent” and “awakening.” Derk Cheetwood (Max) lent his support and commented on Rademacher’s post noting “I stand for Medical Freedom as well!”
As controversial as Rademacher’s vaccine content has been, over the weekend he posted something different that quickly raised eyebrows. In his Instagram stories, Rademacher shared a post that showed a photo of Rachel Levine, a transgender woman who is now the assistant secretary for health in the Biden administration. The text of the post Rademacher shared referred to “ClownTown” and referenced Levine as “the dude.” This quickly sparked a lot of pushback for Rademacher.
Cassandra James Is Not Having It
One reason Rademacher’s share caused an uproar among General Hospital cast members and fans is due to Cassandra James (Dr. Terry Randolph). Not only is James a transgender woman, but her on-screen GH character is transgender as well. A few hours after Rademacher’s post, she seemingly referenced it on Twitter. “I am aware of a transphobic post shared by a fellow General Hospital actor. Shame on you,” she wrote. “You have some serious unlearning and education to do,” she added, as she expressed her dismay that “such a public display of ignorance could come from our GH family.”
This could make for a difficult and awkward situation on the General Hospital set, if Rademacher were still filming. At this point, however, neither Rademacher nor the show has confirmed his exit. All signs certainly seem to signal that’s the case though.
