Did Hallmark Renew Chesapeake Shores Season 6?
Has Hallmark renewed Chesapeake Shores for Season 6? According to Spoiler TV, the network has. On Thursday they wrote, “It looks like Hallmark have quietly renewed Chesapeake Shores for 6th Season.
A Production report shows that Season 6 is being prepared for shooting in April 2022. We’ll post the official press release once we have it.”
That was the entire article.
What production “report” could they have been referring to? The November 4, 2021 edition of Production Weekly. There, on Issue 1271, they posted 146 listings, and that included “Chesapeake Shores 06.” We may assume that the “06” means Season 6.
Chesapeake Shores Star Meghan Ory Comments On Story
Meghan Ory, who plays Abby, in Chesapeake Shores, seemed awfully confused by all of this. It seems that she has not received any sort of news whatsoever on a renewal of the series that she has starred in the past six seasons.
She posted on her Instagram Stories about this article. Sharing a post from another Instagram page called Chesapeake Shores tv, a fan site. They posted Meghan Ory’s original story of the front page of the article stating the renewal. They commented, “@HallmarkChannel, can you clarify this for the #chessies? We’re all waiting to know!”
On the repost, Ory had her own comments. “Hahah oh no #Chessies!! It’s so much drama! I’m so curious where this story came from. It should be a movie on @hallmarkmovie.”
Treat Williams even posted something about this fiasco. On Twitter, he shared the article header and wrote, “This is interesting.” In addition, he tagged the Hallmark Channel.

What Does Hallmark Say About Series?
Hallmark has not posted anything on social media about these reports. They have not yet commented on their plans regarding Chesapeake Shores. The only press release that Hallmark has shared regarding this series was on October 22.
The title of the official press release states “Season Five of Hallmark Channel’s Chesapeake Shores Wraps Up As #1 Scripted Series On Cable.” The report states that the series averaged 1.9 total viewers, with 224,000 women 25-54. The series reached 7 million “unduplicated total viewers.”
In other words, the series did well. This is especially important as the lead star, Jesse Metcalfe left the series at the beginning of Season 5. This was a complete shock to Chessies. Not long afterward, Hallmark announced that Robert Buckley from The Christmas House and One Tree Hill would be joining the cast. In addition, Stephen Huszar also joined the cast.
In comparison, according to TV Series Finale, the series averaged 1.7 million viewers in each of that seasons’ six episodes.
Would this mean that if Hallmark renewed the series with those numbers, the increased viewership should guarantee a Season 6?
However, Hallmark has not officially renewed Chesapeake Shores. Yet.
