Danica McKellar Inks Exclusive Multi-Movie Deal With GAC Media
Hallmark Queen Danica McKellar has signed a deal with GAC Media that will have her working again for Bill Abbott, the former CEO of the feel-good network. What are the details of her surprising new contract, and will she be making any Hallmark movies again?
Danica McKellar Signs An Exclusive Contract With GAC Media
On Tuesday GAC Media announced that Danica McKellar has sighed a special contract with the new network. According to Deadline, this agreement will last through 2023. Bill Abbott, President & CEO of GAC Media stated, “Danica is a world-class talent who is among TV’s most beloved and enduring stars.” He continued, “Her combination of creativity and passion is second to none, and I am thrilled to have her join GAC’s close-knit family.”
The Wonder Years actress wrote on her Instagram Stories, “I’m so happy to be joining the wonderful @gactv family.”
In this deal, she will star and executive produce four movies for GAC Media. They will air on the GAC Family Channel.
However, if anyone thought she was going to still be acting in Hallmark movies, as well as act and executive produce the GAC movies, then they would be mistaken. This deal encompasses all romcoms and holiday movies through 2023. However, this means she will not be doing a Hallmark Christmas movie in 2022 or 2023. Her most recent Hallmark movie, You, Me & The Christmas Trees just kicked off Countdown To Christmas 2021. Therefore, this is her last Hallmark movie for some time.
Currently, there is no word on what will happen with Danica’s mystery series, Matchmaker Mysteries, which airs on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Recently, Jesse Metcalfe had stated that his Martha’s Vineyard Mystery series was on hold, as the network was reviewing their mystery series.
What Is Danica McKellar’s First GAC Family Movie?
Danica McKellar fans don’t have to wait too long for her First GAC Family movie. She will be in The Winter Palace, which will premiere in January 2022. Not only will she star in this movie, but she will also be the executive producer
There is no information on who her co-star is or on the storyline. That should be made available in the near future.
However, based on the title, we can surmise that this may be a royal romance. Sounds fun!
Danica Is One Of Hallmark’s Queens
Just recently, the Deck The Hallmark podcast speculated on which of the three Hallmark Christmas Queens would leave for GAC first. Hallmark’s top three actresses have long been Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, and Lacey Chabert. All three have had a long history with Bill Abbott when he was with Crown Media. Moreover, Bill Abbott was very involved in their successful Hallmark careers.
Each has had some of the most iconic roles on the network. In addition, all three have their own mystery series on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
With Danica McKellar’s new deal, could this be an opportunity for another fan favorite, like Nikki Deloach or Bethany Joy Lenz to be elevated?
