‘Below Deck’: Eddie Lucas Calls Captain Lee’s Replacement A ‘S*** Show’
Below Deck Season 9 premieres tonight. Like with any other show, it’s filled with drama. As TV Shows Ace previously revealed, it’s chaotic. Captain Lee Rosbach is not seen in the first episode. The so-called “Stud of the Sea” has a health scare.
He’s replaced by Captain Sean Meagher for a few episodes. First officer Eddie Lucas is not used to it since he’s worked with Lee since the beginning. It’s going to feel different for a lot of the viewers who love the fan-favorite. Find out why Eddie was freaking out over Lee’s short-term absence from the show.
Eddie Lucas gets frustrated with Captain Lee’s replacement
Eddie struggles to work well with Captain Lee’s replacement. It’s not a good way to start Below Deck Season 9. In fact, the crew member has a hard time getting along with Captain Sean Meagher. The two are going to butt heads as fans will quickly see.
“This day is kicking my a**,” Eddie Lucas says in the sneak peek of the Monday, October 25 episode of Below Deck. “Captain Lee better be here soon because I’m not going to be able to do an entire season with Captain Sean. Just doing everything.”
Already, the two are off to a rough start. Eddie has more work than necessary. He has to prepare for the first charter guests and their beach picnic. Fans will find out that Captain Sean is different from Lee in which he’s a micromanager. He advises Eddie what to do over the radio, which gets under her skin.
The captain rattles off a list of items for the picnic. Eddie doesn’t understand why the captain is doing this to him. Some fans may be frustrated with Below Deck Mediterranean star Captain Sandy Yawn, but this new one takes the cake. Sean gets on Eddie’s nerves and it’s clear.
Below Deck Season 9 premiere is “a s*** show”
Eddie Lucas goes increasingly frustrated with Captain Sean. He calls the entire situation “f***ing stupid” and “such a s*** show.” Below Deck fans are already aware that Captain Lee won’t be on the first episode. The captain explained that he had a “health condition” that forced him to stay on land.
Thankfully, Lee is doing much better these days. The timing was off. He also revealed that this season is “unlike any other” and that he’s “the happiest guy in the world” when he finally got back on his yacht.
“It was totally a unique year,” Captain Lee explained. “There was just a lot of different things this year, because of the circumstances in which we had to film. A lot of things that we’re used to doing, we couldn’t do because we had to stay within the confines of our bubble because of COVID, so we had to improvise in some situations, which is not a bad thing.”
The crew and production had to get creative while filming in the confined space. Fans will also learn more about Lee and Eddie’s relationship. The former bosun previously appeared from 2013 to 2015. Below Deck Season 9 premieres on Monday, October 25 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
