‘Dancing With The Stars’ Fans Are Shocked At This Week’s Elimination

Wow — did anyone see that coming? As Grease Night came to a close, we all knew we would have to say goodbye to one Dancing With The Stars competitor and their partner.

However, I don’t think many predicted the elimination would go down the way that it did.

So who went home at the end of Dancing With The Stars tonight?

Grease Night actually ended the same way that Disney Week ended. A split decision among the judges confused many fans, but hostess Tyra Banks took a little more time to explain the elimination process this week.

Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Len Goodman each cast a vote to save one couple from the bottom two. If there was a 2/2 split, Len Goodman decided who would stay in the competition.

Fans were outraged after this wasn’t explained well and the judges sent home Matt James and Lindsay Arnold last week. But now that things have been cleared up a bit, fans might be less annoyed.

This week, the bottom two couples were Olivia Jade and Val Chmerkovskiy and Mel C and Gleb. This came as a pretty big surprise to most viewers, including the judges.

Derek voted to save Olivia Jade and Val while Carrie Ann and Bruno voted to save Mel C and Gleb. Len ultimately chose to save Olivia Jade and Val, which meant they stayed in the competition.

Mel C had been dealing with some insecurities

Although she had some dance training and scored well, Mel C admitted she struggled with insecurities in the ballroom and it was starting to show in her performances.

“I get tense,” Sporty Spice told Parade just before DWTS Disney Week. “That’s one of the biggest things that Gleb [Savchenko] and I try to work on is for me to relax. I’m capable of a lot as a dancer, but I just get myself all stressed out. So, I completely take that on board. I will continue to try to chill out a little bit.”

But it wasn’t just tension that was bothering the member of the Spice Girls.

“I trained as a dancer until I was 19,” Mel C went on to say in the interview. “Obviously, I was young, I was fit, I was very ambitious, I was very courageous, and I am now 47 and I have had some quite serious injuries in my life. I had a child. I don’t have the confidence in my body that I did in my 20s and sometimes I think that holds me back.”

Are you sad to see Mel C and Gleb leave the competition? Let us know in the comments.

Don’t forget that Dancing With The Stars comes back next week for Horror Night! Tune in and see all the remaining contestants compete for the Mirrorball Trophy.
