‘Below Deck Med’: Malia White Confirms Comments About Her Sexuality

Below Deck Med star Malia White opens up about the comment that she “swings both ways.” She made the revelation in a previous episode of the reality series. It all started when deckhand Lloyd Spencer got emotional over his crew member’s support. He confessed to chief stew Katie Flood that he was “90% straight.”

Most of the crew members rallied around him and hugged him. They wanted to show Lloyd that they didn’t care about those things. That’s when Malia said that she occasionally hooks up with women. This comes a year after Captain Sandy Yawn made comments about the bosun’s sexuality.

The Below Deck Med Season 6 star wasn’t shy when she opened up about sexuality. It’s obviously a sore subject to her. Fans judge Malia White for dating within the industry. Her personal life has been a hot topic lately. TV Shows Ace previously reported that Malia could be dating someone behind the scenes.

She’s dipped her toe in the lady pond. Malia talked about the comment she made when she spoke to Lloyd. She wanted to console him by saying that she got judged in college for “swinging both ways,” which she still does to this day. The bosun said that her sexuality isn’t really anyone’s business. Still, she was willing to open up more about that comment.

“I think people have talked about my sexuality and I Just think the bigger topic is who cares?” Malia told Decider. “Like, stop trying to put labels on who people are. Is Malia bi? Is she gay? Is she straight? Stop caring, people can be fluid.”

Malia explained that she “had fun” with girls in college. She had a good time and has no regrets. The yachtie feels that everyone has the opportunity to explore their sexuality if they choose to do so. The criticism over sexuality is an “old-achoo mentality,” claims Malia. She feels that love is love, and no one should be judged for it.

Captain Sandy Yawn joked about Malia’s sexuality

Malia White became a hot topic last summer. Captain Sandy Yawn’s Cameo video went viral on social media. She claimed that Malia was “secretly gay” in a video that was meant for one fan’s eyes only. That video ended up in the hands of many Below Deck Med fans who slammed Sandy for outing Malia.

Sandy apologized for the video. As for Malia, she took to her Instagram to post a video response. She denied Sandy’s claims that she’s a lesbian before sharing her support for the LGBTQ+ community. “First off, if I was gay, I would just like to say it should be my decision when and if to out it to the entire internet. But no, I’m not [gay],” Malia claimed at the time. In the previous Below Deck Med episode, she acknowledged the homophobia that still runs in the yachting community.
