’16 & Pregnant’ Star Heads To Prison For Child Pornography Charges
A former star of MTV’s 16 & Pregnant Lori Wickelhaus is heading to prison for more than six years for child pornography charges. Lori Wickelhaus, of Bromley in Northern Kentucky, was indicted in August of 2020 for 20 counts of child pornography possession.
Fox 19 reports the former MTV star plead guilty to the charges against her in exchange for a shorter sentencing earlier this week. The news outlet confirms the former 16 & Pregnant star agreed to get mental health counseling in addition to serving six and a half years behind bars.
Former 16 & Pregnant star heads to prison
In August of 2020, Lori Wickelhaus was arrested. The Sun reports the arrest occurred after the Kentucky State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tipped off the Campbell County authorities.
The police report obtained by The Sun reveals the task force told authorities: “unknown subject uploaded images that depict child pornography to a dropbox account.”
After receiving the tip, authorities received search warrants in March of 2020 to search her Google and Dropbox accounts. Court records reveal they later searched her iPhone too.
Authorities reportedly recovered child pornography on both the MTV star’s iPhone and white chrome laptop.
Originally, a warrant for her arrest was issued on August 13, 2020. She was arrested on Monday, August 24, 2020. She was later released on a $10,000 cash bond.
Lori Wickelhaus appeared on Season 2 of the MTV series
Lori Wickelhaus was featured in an episode during Season 2 of MTV’s 16 & Pregnant back in 2010. MTV fans will recall Lori was adopted. And, her episode featured her debating on whether to put her son Aidan with boyfriend Cory Haskett up for adoption. Ultimately, when her son was just two days old, she decided to let a couple adopt him.
According to MTV, Lori Wickelhaus did visit her birth son and his family on a “regular basis.” The MTV star went on to have two additional children in 2013 and 2014. In 2013, she gave birth to her daughter, Rylynn Jo, who she shared with her former fiance Joseph Amos. In 2014, she gave birth to her son, Logan.
Multiple outlets including People Magazine have reached out to Lori’s attorney for a comment regarding her sentencing. But, the attorney has not responded to requests for a comment.
