‘Young And The Restless’ Hunter King Breaks Silence On Social Media
The Young and the Restless star Hunter King broke her silence on Instagram. The actress has been kind of M.I.A. since her character Summer Newman isn’t on the daytime soap as much. She’s reportedly set to make her exit alongside co-star Michael Mealor. Their characters are expected to have a happy ending.
It’s all just a matter of time. The reason why King and Mealor left the show is because of contract negotiations. They couldn’t reach an agreement with production. King is said to have a new gig lined up. Since the rumors swirled, the blonde beauty broke her silence on social media.
Hunter King returns to Instagram
The Young and the Restless star posted two new photos on Instagram. Prior to then, she’s only updated on her Instagram Stories. It’s been over a month since Hunter King shared any new photos on the social media platform. In a recent post, King sat on an orange couch with her friend Titina Gargiulo at the backdrop of Central Perk cafe, which looks like the iconic brewery from the popular sitcom, Friends.
Both ladies crack a smile as they have a good time. “They don’t know that we know they know we know,” King joked in the caption. She also tagged her friend in the post. Friends fans will know exactly what Hunter is talking about.
Most fans loved the photos. Some of them took the post to talk about that episode of Friends. Other fans wanted to talk about Young and the Restless instead. They addressed her absence from the show.
Even King’s co-star Eileen Davidson wrote, “Miss you, Hunter!” One fan asked the soap star to “get back to work” and get rid of the character Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner). Tara got Summer’s job while Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) ended up with her career. Summer had no choice but to leave Kyle and go to Italy.
The Young and the Restless star continues to update on Instagram
On Friday, July 30, Hunter returned to Instagram with another post. This time she posed alongside her sister Joey King. She shared a series of beautiful selfies of them together. She wanted to honor her sibling on her birthday.
“From building blanket forts and always wearing matching outfits to school, to watching you soar and the beautiful, strong, intelligent woman you are, has all made up the highlights of my life,” King wrote in the heartwarming post. “I feel so lucky to have your hand to hold in life. Love you to infinity and back again as grandma always says. Happy birthday buddy.”
Fans commented on King’s sweet post. Joey responded, “Being your sister is the greatest gift. Thank you, buddy. I love you so much it hurts.” King’s co-star Courtney Hope commented with a series of red hearts and a clapping emoji. Meanwhile, Michelle Stafford wrote, “Beauties!!!”
King has left Y&R for a primetime gig. So far, it was greenlit for a pilot episode. King has always left the daytime show in favor of primetime opportunities. However, it’s likely that King could announce her permanent departure.
What do you think? Do you think Summer will return to Genoa City and seek revenge against Tara and Sally? How do you think she’ll reunite with Kyle?

Since William Bell died years ago, the story lines have become ridiciously stupid. Right now, only story line I liked was Kyle and Summer getting married. Then they bring in Tara….and yuck with Sally. Hate Sally is staying, but hey, they are losing the best, so gotta have someone to fill the void, so much so that they bring Gloria back. Frankly, I think the program is coming to an end, and I as one hope so since I have watched from the beginning.
Yes, some of the storylines have become a bit ridiculous, but it’s ENTERTAINMENT! It’s not there to mirror reality, it’s there to MOCK reality. And there are some storylines that are a bit closer to reality than you might think.
I’ve been watching for 40 years! DEFINITELY do NOT want the show to end! Although I wish they would find true love for Victoria, not Billy or Ashland. They could do something more with Sally (who I happen to like), but I see kind of where they’re going. And true love for Jack.
