Our Review and Recap
Luca is a really interesting take on sea monsters. Toward the beginning, the movie gives some serious Little Mermaid vibes as Luca has to learn how to walk on land. The series has a pretty adorable storyline with some loveable characters. For the parents watching, things get a bit emotional when you learn the truth about Alberto’s father.
The struggles within Luca and Alberto’s friendship when a third person is introduced is also pretty intense. And, the moment toward the end of the movie where they work out their differences and save each other… Well, it is another moment that might make you shed a few tears.
The movie had such an attention-grabbing story with vibrant colors that even my preschooler was yelling at the television and cheering the characters on.
Overall, this is definitely a movie to stream. The graphics and artwork in the movie are beautiful. Furthermore, the grandmother and cat and this unexpected layer of humor to the movie that people will really appreciate.
