Kate Chastain Breaks Her Silence On Exiting ‘Bravo’s Chat Room’
Fans have been wondering why Kate Chastain left Bravo’s Chat Room. She wasn’t the one to confirm it. Bravo confirmed her exit from the show. Not only did Kate create the show, but she was also the producer and co-host. It was one of her first one-woman gigs after leaving Below Deck last year.
There has been a lot of speculation over her sudden departure. One fan assumed that the reason why Kate left was that she was fired. She clapped back at the fan on Twitter and put that rumor to rest. However, there were no answers until now.
Kate Chastain explains her departure from Bravo’s Chat Room
The former chief stew made an appearance on the What Else is Going On podcast. Kate Chastain and host Taria Shondell Faison talked about everything that was happening, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview and the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kate also revealed that she’s been moving back and forth from New York to Florida ever since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.
She joked that she’s celebrating her personal one-year anniversary. Then, Kate explained how Bravo’s Chat Room came to be. She said that everyone who leaves a reality show ultimately wants their own spinoff series. Her dream show was something similar to Joan Rivers’ Fashion Police on E!. Kate pitched Bravo the idea of a panel talk show that combines fashion with pop culture.
But then the pandemic hit and Kate and her co-hosts had to film the show via Zoom. At the time, she was starting her own production company called Remotely Possible Productions. So, it became the perfect fit. Bravo’s Chat Room was supposed to last six seasons. But they ended up adding four more, then 10 more due to increased popularity.
I had the pleasure of having @Kate_Chastain on the podcast. There was even a surprise WWHL doorbell (hint: “Hello Lovelies” 👨🍳) We are a vibe…get into it! https://t.co/uQM5DpCYpQ pic.twitter.com/p46Rprc3k3

After 20 episodes, Kate felt that the show eventually found its “vibe.” She felt that she didn’t fit in with the rest of her co-hosts. Kate loves being her own person and already has different projects in the works. So, she made the decision to leave.
Kate feels that The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, The Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant, and Summer House star Hannah Berner had a similar vibe.
Also hints about leaving Below Deck sooner
Later on in the interview, Kate Chastain also hinted about leaving situations earlier. Kate and Taria reflected on times when people should leave toxic environments and things that don’t feel right. As fans recall, Kate felt uncomfortable during Below Deck Season 7. It was the most toxic season of the franchise due to the rampant misogyny on board the yacht.
It sounds like Kate was over the idea of yachting by then. But now, she’s happier than ever. And she’s looking forward to her future. Even with the complexities of a global pandemic.

I stopped watching bravo chat room when Kate left. Hannah doesn’t seem like a good fit at all and brought no value. And porscha Williams bugs me overall. To me Kate really was worth watching and I’ve always loved her dry humor on below deck.
Dissapointed to see Kate Chastain gone from Bravos Chat Room after all it was her idea to begin with.
Maybe she felt she didn’t fit in because Porsha ans Gizelle are quite posh & live in mansions.
She’s smart, talented and witty with her sarcasm…wondering what she will do next now that she left her yachting career and Bravo Chat room.
We hope to see her again somewhere.
