‘1,000-Lb. Sisters’ Season 3 Confirmed By TLC & Here’s What We Know
The Season 2 Finale of 1000-Lb. Sisters aired last week and fans were already itching to know if TLC would renew for Season 3. Considering how wishy-washy the network was with the renewal of Season 2… Fans were not really sure what to expect. Moreover, TLC doesn’t usually renew any of their shows for a new season so quickly after a previous season wraps up. Shocking news from Deadline broke recently that TLC has confirmed 1,000-Lb. Sisters will return for Season 3.
Wait, why did TLC already renew the series?
Now, we know what you are thinking. What caused TLC to renew 1000-Lb. Sisters for Season 3 so quickly? Well, apparently it had to do with the ratings. Season 2 of the series got such great ratings the network did not want to wait. Turns out, there were a whole lot of people who turned in to watch Tammy and Amy Slaton’s weight loss journey.
According to Deadline, the series finished out holding the No. 1 spot in its time slot among women between the ages of 25-54, 18-49, and 18-24. Ratings-wise, the show nearly doubled in viewers compared to its first season. Moreover, the series picked up tons of attention on social media. This included 15 million interactions every week. There was even a TikTok video clip featuring Tammy and Amy that accrued over 65 million views. Likewise, Tammy Slaton recently broke 1 million followers on TikTok. This number pales in comparison to her 100,000 followers on Instagram.
1000-Lb. Sisters Season 3 confirmed: What to expect
Amy and Michael gave birth to baby Gage at the end of Season 2. So, we expect to continue to follow baby Gage as he hits major milestones. Likewise, we expect to see Chris get weight loss surgery and continue his journey. Chris Combs became a fan favorite. And, fans hope we’ll see more of him during Season 3.
What about Tammy Slaton? Well, we know the family had plans for Tammy to move into a facility to have a more controlled environment to lose weight in. We also know the family decided Tammy needed therapy to deal with her food addiction. The episode ended with Tammy and her family looking for a place qualified and equipped to handle her.
Fans remain hopeful that Tammy Slaton will qualify for the weight loss surgery too. And, find a way to turn her life around.

At this point in time, we don’t have a release date for Season 3. We don’t know when they will start filming or if they already have. But, fans hope they won’t wait too long as they want to continue to watch Gage Halterman grow!
