Nikki Bella Gives Update On Her Relationship With Artem Chigvintsev
Total Bellas star Nikki Bella has been pretty vocal about her relationship struggles with fiance Artem Chigvintsev during 2020. The couple agreed that once Dancing With The Stars ended for the season, they would give couples’ counseling a try. Nikki recently sat down with Us Weekly to discuss the progress and what their relationship is like today.
“It’s helped us tremendously,” Nikki told the publication during a joint interview with her sister, Brie. “We don’t even have to keep going because it’s — I mean, it’s good to always have checkups — but all of a sudden, our sessions turned into, like, you just sit there. You’re like, ‘Oh, I’m really loving right now. Like, there’s no problems.’ It’s like we didn’t know what to talk about.”

The WWE superstar went on to talk about how a lot of the tension between her and Artem stemmed from being new parents. In the past, Nikki discussed how she suffered from postpartum depression and didn’t feel like she got enough help. She also said she felt jealous that Artem got to have fun on Dancing With The Stars and she had to stay at home with the baby.
“For Artem and I, and I think for new parents, I think anyone that’s been in this situation, it’s hard for the guy to understand what us women are going through and us women don’t always — I know my situation. I don’t tell him how I’m feeling. I just assume that he should know. And he’s this guy, like, ‘I have no idea what she’s feeling and now she’s upset at me,’” Nikki continued. “And I just realized [it was] miscommunication. We used to have an amazing foundation of communication and we lost that when Matteo came, and it’s both of our faults in different ways — me for not communicating and Artem for not asking. And it was so amazing when we started to realize that.”
The little family has a lot to be thankful for these days
It’s really refreshing to see a celebrity couple put so much time and energy into their relationship. Fans hope that Nikki and Artem will be together for many more years to come.
Things definitely seem positive for the couple these days. In addition to couples’ counseling, the two also moved their little family to Napa, California. Brie’s family joined them so the sisters never have to be apart.
Dancing With The Stars won’t be back until the fall, so Artem has plenty of time to spend at home with Nikki and the baby. That is when he’s not busy with cooking school. During quarantine, Artem Chigvintsev really dove into cooking as a hobby and Nikki encouraged him to try it out professionally.
