‘1000-Lb. Sisters’: Doctors Tell Amy Slaton Something Really Scary
Last week’s episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters left us on a bit of a cliffhanger as things got a little scary for Amy Slaton and Michael Halterman. Were she and the baby alright? Was she going into labor? Did she give birth shortly after the episode ended? So many questions… And, so few answers. Fortunately, tonight’s episode clears up a lot of these questions. But, Amy Slaton Halterman also reveals the doctors told her something “really scary” about her pregnancy. And, she needed to call Tammy to break the news.
Warning: This contains spoilers from Season 2, Episode 9 titled “Labor of Love.”
What “really scary” thing did the doctors tell Amy Slaton Halterman?
Turns out, there were a few scary things discussed with the doctor before Amy went home from the hospital. For starters, there is the issues with giving birth during the pandemic. Turns out, it is extremely common for parents to test positive while giving birth. And, it creates a serious safety risk for the newborn baby. So, Amy Halterman has to quarantine before giving birth to her little guy. This way she can ensure that she and her husband are COVID-19 free. Amy reveals this information to her sister as she explains why she didn’t just come over to tell her this in person. Qurantine, however, is not the “really scary” thing.
Next, she reveals the doctors told her that Gage was breech. She proceeded to explain this meant the baby was turned the wrong way. And, he was preparing to come out butt first instead of head first. Unfortunately, this put her in a position where she’d have to have a C-section. This was, of course, unless he turned around on his own.
Amy admits to her sister that she’s terrified. Tammy puts on a strong face and tells her sister she’s just going to have to get it done and bring that baby boy into the world. Moreover, she notes her sister should have known there was always a risk that baby would be breech.
Did she end up having a C-section?
As we previously reported, it was confirmed during an exclusive with People Magazine that Amy Halterman did give birth via C-section.
