Jill & Derick Dillard’s Family Is Growing – Meet Their New Family Member
Jill & Derick Dillard have officially made an addition to their family! A new family member has joined them, as well as their two sons, Israel, 5, and Samuel, 3. Get to know their new family member here.

In a YouTube video published on Wednesday, February 24, the couple reveals that their family has grown. The video documents their trip to pick up their new family member. They take their boys in the car and drive to the animal shelter. In the car, the family chats about how they like looking at the animals.
In the description of the video, the couple writes, “We didn’t expect this to happen!” So, it seems like they were only planning on looking at animals at the shelter. After watching the video, it’s apparent that something totally different happened.
Duggar couple adopts a dog
The video then features the couple and their sons walking past the kennels at the shelter. They are stopping to look at the dogs. Derick points out one of the dogs that they saw online, but they didn’t think that the dog would still be available for adoption. While at the shelter, they also took a look at the cats.
Later in the video, the family plays outside with a dog. Then, they ask their sons if they want to bring the dog home. Of course, the little boys seem excited to add a dog to their family. Israel even promises to work hard to train the dog.
Duggar fans are very excited for the Dillard family. Not only are they happy that the boys get to have a dog now, but they are thrilled that Jill & Derick chose to adopt a dog. They think it’s amazing that Jill is using her platform in this way. Fans think the dog is adorable and that she will do great with the boys. From the video, it looks like the kids are already getting along well with the dog.
The end of the video features Derick completing the adoption paperwork. Then, the family is on their way home with their newest addition. She rides in the trunk behind Samuel and Israel. She seems interested in the kids and is smelling them. The dog is a Belgian Shepherd mix. At the shelter, her name was Grendel. During the car ride, Jill and Derick say that they may keep her name or may change it. Finally, Jill promises more dog content soon.
