90 Day Fiance: Kalani Faagata’s Family Deals with Tragic Loss
Typically, the coming of a new year is a time to celebrate. This is particularly true with the kind of year 2020 was. But unfortunately for Kalani Faagata and her family, her grandfather recently lost his life due to complications from COVID-19. Several family members – including her mother and father – recently shared the sad news with 90 Day Fiance fans.
Turns out, Faavae Faagata died on January 16, 2021. Kalani Faagata’s grandfather was 77 at the time of his passing. It seems to be a loss the entire Faagata family feels. Meanwhile, fellow cast members and fans reached out to offer kind words during this difficult time.
Family Members Say Goodbye
Kalani Faagata had some touching words to say about her grandfather on Instagram. Asuelu Pulaa’s wife said what she would miss most about her grandfather – the way he made everyone laugh. She recalls fond memories of him “joking” back and forth with her grandmother, too.
In addition, the 90 Day Fiance mom said that she is thankful for the way he always looked after them whenever they were in Samoa. In closing, she said she knows he will “continue to do the same.” She also said some words in her mother tongue to bid farewell to her family member. Along with her words, Kalani also shared a handful of throwback pictures from happier times. No doubt, they have a lot of fond memories to remember him by.
90 Day Fiance: Papa Low & Lisa Faagata Reflect on Loss

I think Kalani sister in law is horrible. She would not give her mom a chance to be herself. She only wants to fight. Does she think that people are going to stand and let her hit the. I am waiting for the day someone put a sock in her mouth. Why don’t she have more kids rather than pestering Kalani. Also is the mother a US resident? If so I bet she is getting a good sum from our government so why does she want to put pressure on her son for money.
UUUMMMM while I do agree that Kalani’s sister in law needs to stop trying to fight everyone all the time.
Why would you assume that his mother receives government assistance? It is very common for Samoan parents to ask their children for money. It’s part of their culture. That is down right racist for you to assume that because they are from Samoa that they collect government assistance. Shame on you.
She’s right tho … It’s not racist unless your mind is making it only about race. It’s more about all the double dipping and lack of work/employment that’s required if you want to live in the USA… Fine with the culture and money is their business BUT get a job too ppl!!!! There’s plenty of work out there even if they don’t have work visas.. Let’s get real that mother and daughter? Toxic and ungrateful as they come..
