Most Anticipated Anime Series Of 2021: Here’s What’s Coming
The year 2021 promises a lot of great anime series including the final season of Attack on Titan and the revival of the series BLEACH. At TV Shows Ace, we wondered what other anime shows we had to look forward to this year. So, we decided to compile a list. A list of the most anticipated anime series expected to premiere in the year 2021. Here’s what we came up with.
1. BLEACH Season 17
It’s been eight years since BLEACH aired the final episode of Season 16. That, however, hasn’t made the series any less popular. According to The Cinemaholic, it was in March of last year that news broke the series would return. To give the cast one more run. And, a little more closure.
‘Bleach’ has aired its last episode eight years ago but remains as iconic as ever. In March 2020, it was revealed that the producers are planning to bring back Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends for one last run. The manga’s final arc will be turned into an anime series to give these memorable characters the closure they deserve.
2. Attack on Titan Season 4
The fourth and final season of Attack on Titan premiered this month (January of 2021). But, this series has a fairly large fan base and the release of the final season was highly anticipated for the year 2021. So far, it has been a pretty slow release. Furthermore, fans who prefer the English Dub version have only gotten to enjoy a couple of episodes. And, they’ve had to subscribe to Funimation because Hulu has not picked up the Dub version just yet.
3. The Promised Neverland Season 2
IGN has a slightly different opinion of the most anticipated anime series of 2021. And, it ranks the return of The Promised Neverland for Season 2 pretty high on the list. The series tells the story of three orphaned children named Emma, Ray, and Norman. For the most part, the life they live at the orphanage is relatively normal.

This is until they discover the truth of what happens following an “adoption” from the orphanage. The Promised Neverland is so popular fans also have a live-action movie to look forward to as well.
4. My Hero Academia Season 5
The Cinemaholic refers to the superhero anime genre as “oversaturated.” But, My Hero Academia managed to find a place within the genre. And, the highly anticipated anime series pulled in many fans. So, it isn’t too surprising that so many people are looking forward to the premiere of Season 5.
5. The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2
Anime series that fall into the Isekai subgenre are released by the dozen each yet. Some do well. And, others flop. Never making it past their first season. For those unfamiliar with the name, Isekai is a subgenre where the protagonist of the series travels to a magical fantasy world. The Rising of the Shield Hero, however, has a bit of a darker storyline than other series that fall into this genre. That in combination with the thick pessimism in the series… Makes it extremely popular among fans.
Other anime series worth mentioning that are getting released during 2021 include:
- Uzumaki
- Shaman King Season 2
- How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Season 2
- To Your Eternity
- The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5
