‘Fuller House’ Star Andrea Barber Grieves The Loss Of Her Mother
Fuller House star Andrea Barber shared an emotional message on Instagram. She revealed that her mother, Sherry Barber, passed away. She suffered from pulmonary fibrosis. On Tuesday, January 12, Andrea shared the devastating news with her 1.5 million followers.
She shared a sweet photo of her hugging her mom. The comedic actress wore a red dress that featured scalloped cutouts on the sleeves. Meanwhile, her mom wore a colorful cardigan. The two embraced and smiled in the photo. In her lengthy post, Andrea revealed that her family was together for her mom’s final moments.
“My beautiful mother, Sherry Barber, passed away a few days ago after almost four years of battling Pulmonary Fibrosis,” Andrea captioned the photo of the two of them. “She was surrounded by my dad, my brothers, and me. I held her hand as she took her last breaths. It was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.”
Andrea Barber reflects on the good times
In her post, the former child star shared how her mom would appear during the Fuller House tapings. Andrea Barber had a tough time keeping it together in some of her scenes. She would often hear her mom’s laughs throughout the studio.
“She had the loudest and most distinctive laugh,” Andrea continued. “Every once in a while I would break character because I couldn’t help but smile when I heard it.”
The actress who is best known for her role as Kimmy Gibbler revealed that she’s struggling with the loss of her mom.
“I’m still trying to make sense of how to live in a world without my mom. I find myself instinctively reaching for my phone to text her a picture or write her an email to describe a funny grandkid anecdote,” she revealed. “That was our greatest connection – through words and writing. And *nothing* could take that away – not a pandemic, not distance, not an illness. I still write to her almost every day, and I know she is reading, up there somewhere. But it is gutting to no longer receive a response in my inbox.”
The 44-year-old said that her mother brought her “comfort” over the years. She was there for the highest and lowest moments of Andrea’s life.
Fuller House stars share their condolences

“My heart hurts for you and your family Andrea,” comedian Bob Saget wrote. “Sherry was so beautiful and so lovely. She will be greatly missed.”
“I love you so very, very much. I don’t have the words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss,” Jodie Sweetin added. “Anything I can think of seems cheap and small. Your mom was such a huge part of my life growing up as well. I have so many wonderful memories of her and watching how proud she was of you, and all of us, those last few years is something I’ll never forget. I love you AB.”
Pulmonary fibrosis is a lung disease in which the lungs become scarred over time. It makes it difficult to breathe, and the blood does not get enough oxygen. Andrea continues to share throwback photos of her and her mom on Instagram.
