Candace Cameron Bure Says Her Identity Is Rooted In Christ, Not Politics
Candace Cameron Bure does not want to talk politics. But she does want to talk about faith. The Fuller House star shared some words of encouragement with her fans and followers. On Thursday, January 7, she posted a series of clips on her Instagram Stories.
In the videos, she looked tired and sad. It’s obvious that she was hinting about the Trump riots that killed four people on Wednesday, January 6. Instead of talking politics, Candace thinks that everyone can make a change in their own lives. She offered up some advice for a politically divided country. Read on to learn more.
Candace Cameron Bure encourages people to read the Bible
The Full House alum wanted to address what’s happening in the country. But she promised herself that she would never discuss politics openly again. Instead, she uses her platform to bring hope and joy into people’s lives. Candace is an advocate of reading the Bible and has even read passages on Instagram Live.
“I have so much to say. But here’s the thing. I don’t want to use my social media to talk politics because I stopped talking politics when I stopped co-hosting The View,” Candace exclaimed. “But here’s what I do want to say. Read this.”
Then, she held up a pink, white, and blue Bible in her hand.
“It’s God’s word. If we want change, we need to read it and ingest it and make the change from here,” she continued. “Church, step up! Ladies, gentlemen, read the Bible.”
Candace revealed that she is attending a Bible study group with her girlfriends. They made a new year’s resolution to read the Bible “front to back.” While they’re not following a “specific reading plan,” they’re making the commitment to read a bit every day. Candace encouraged her followers to use social media if they don’t have a Bible study group.
“It’s a great way to use social media,” she said with a smile on her face.

The mom of three knows what social media is like lately. She’s been fighting haters left and right. In her latest Instagram Stories, Candace Cameron Bure also offered some additional tips for her readers.
“There are lots of reading plans online to accomplish this,” she captioned one of the videos. “Find one that works for you! Challenge yourself. I am personally reading Genesis through Revelation straight through.”
She also shared another message for her followers. She wrote: “My identity is not first republican or democrat. But in Christ alone. I pray for God’s healing hand over the United States of America.” In the post, Candace included the cross and the American flag emoji.
Fuller House star vowed never to discuss politics ever again
Candace Cameron Bure has been done talking publicly about politics. Instead, she would rather talk about Jesus. In September 2020, she made an appearance on Fox News. Candace was asked if she would ever return to The View.
“No. I’m done with that chapter,” Candace said with a laugh. “I’m very grateful for that time in my life but I don’t want to talk about politics…I don’t publicly want to talk about politics.”
Instead, she would rather be part of a “conversation about how to build a bridge.” The actress served on the ABC daytime show from 2015 to 2016. On the show, the former child star made controversy for her conservative views. On her Instagram page, Candace regularly talks about her faith and reiterates the importance of reading the Bible.
