What Are Betty White’s Plans For Her 99th Birthday?
Betty White will be turning 99 soon. But like the rest of the world, the legendary comedian will be spending it at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this year, Twitter expressed concerned about the actress. Because of her age, the coronavirus poses a threat to her life. Thankfully, she’s staying safe while in isolation.
What does the Golden Girls alum up to these days?
Per Us Weekly, the Hot in Cleveland star is doing well these days. An insider gave the outlet a health update on Wednesday, December 30. That’s because she wants to look forward to her 99th birthday come January 2021. The insider revealed that Betty White has been keeping herself busy during the quarantine.
“Betty is in good health and spirits,” her rep told Us Weekly.
While she “would like to interact with her friends but does not” due to the COVID-19 outbreak, according to her rep. Instead, she’s been occupying herself within the confines of her home. Betty even makes sure she stays on top of her health. She’s found creative and safe ways to pass the time.
“Crosswords puzzles are no match for Betty,” her rep told Us Weekly. “She reads a number of newspapers, watches select television, and gets a lot of exercise in her home walking up and down bedroom stairs.”
Unlike most people, Betty knows what life was like without the internet. So, she’s turned to some of her favorite hobbies. In the meantime, the Emmy winner is preparing for the release of her show The Pet Set, which aired during the early 1970s. It will be available on digital platforms and DVD on February 23, 2021, in time for its 50th anniversary. It sounds like Betty will have something else to look forward to.
Betty has been active in Hollywood since her career started in 1939. And she continues to work to this day. In 2019, she voiced characters in the animated films Toy Story 4 and Trouble. Also, Betty has a Christmas movie in the works with Lifetime, which the network first announced in May but postponed due to the pandemic.
Betty White made her last public appearance two years ago
The living legend last made a public appearance in September 2018. Betty White took the stage at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards. She received a standing ovation after Saturday Night Live stars Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon introduced her to the crowd.
“It’s incredible that I’m still in this business and you are still putting up with me,” Betty joked to the audience. “All I can say it’s such a blessed business to be in and how lucky can I be and how much I say thank you to each and every one of [of you].”
