‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown Harassed By Fan
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has become the target of bullying. She’s asking for “respect” after removing a TikTok video. The young actress ended up in tears as she talked about being harassed for videos during a recent shopping trip. Millie defended herself and said she’s only a “human being.”
On Monday, November 30, the 16-year-old broke down crying. She described the harassment she dealt with when she went Christmas shopping. Taking to her Instagram Story, Millie recalled the scary incident. She simply wanted to spend some time with her mom when a girl recognized her from the Netflix series.
Millie Bobby Brown gets emotional on Instagram Story
In her black-and-white video, the starlet recounted her story. Millie Bobby Brown revealed that the fan became aggressive. She kept asking her to take a video with her, but Millie refused. However, that didn’t stop the fan from pushing.
“She said, ‘Can I take a video of you?’ I said, ‘Um, no.’ But why would anyone want to be taken a video? Of me? It’s not like of the both of us,” Millie explained. “I don’t need to justify it to anyone. If I don’t want to be taken a video of, I don’t have to be.”
But then the fan filmed her without her consent. Millie added that “I was paying and she walked past me and began to video me again. And I said, ‘I’m a human being. Like, what more can I ask from you?” Then, she got emotional and continued her story. The fan, unfazed by Millie’s reaction, asked, “‘So I can’t take a video of a human being?'”

The actress responded with a resounding: “No.” She gets “upset when people try to push the boundary, and I just wish people were more respectful.” Millie defended herself and asked her fans to treat her better.
“I’m still trying to navigate this all and it’s still overwhelming… Where are my rights to say no?” she asked with a desperate plea.
Stranger Things star makes plea to fans
The Enola Holmes star ended her video with a plea to her 40 million followers. Millie Bobby Brown demanded “respect” from them. She asked for them to be more courteous to others, including celebrities such as herself.
“You have to show more respect for others, no matter who they are, what they do,” she continued. “It’s just manners.”
Some of her fans realized the traumatizing encounter could be the reason why Millie deleted her TikTok account. She returned to Instagram to assure them that she’s fine. Obviously, she was shaken up by the incident. The Florence by Mills beauty founder wrote on Instagram: “I am totally fine now. But was emotional in the moment because I felt uncomfortable and disrespected.”
The official Twitter account for the writers of Stranger Things shared their support for the actress who plays Eleven. They shared a special message on Tuesday, December 1.
The tweet simply read: “Be kind to others. Find compassion. Wear a mask. All those things cost zero dollars and take zero energy.”
