Kelly Dodd Lashes Out At ‘Cancel Culture’ In New Video
Kelly Dodd has always been an outspoken force on The Real Housewives of Orange County. Fans loved her when she first appeared on the series. She was blunt, funny, and a breath of fresh air. However, Kelly’s mouth has gotten her into trouble lately.
She’s received backlash for her comments about the coronavirus pandemic. To this day, Kelly continues to downplay the seriousness of the virus. Some of those fans boycotted RHOC Season 15 since she’s on it. They hoped that Bravo would give her the pink slip for her insensitive remarks.
Unsurprisingly, Kelly doesn’t like “cancel culture.” She shared her thoughts via Instagram.

RHOC fans are mixed on what should happen to Kelly Dodd. Some argued that she has learned her lesson, especially since her mom was in the hospital with COVID-19. Others think she shouldn’t return next season. Some of them have asked Bravo to let her go.
There are even fans who have boycotted the current seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County. The show continues to see plummeting ratings. But it’s unclear whether it’s because of Kelly or if it has to do with Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge’s exits from the show. The Real Housewives Franchise Instagram posted a video of Kelly addressing those rumors.
“It’s all speculation and completely absurd,” Kelly says. “They are saying that our ratings are down slightly due to my antics and that people are boycotting me. What? Fan boys?”
It’s clear that this season is not performing as well as the previous season. As per Screen Rant, ratings are down 25 percent. Some fans think it’s because of Kelly’s presence on the show. They feel that she lacks concern for those around her. They haven’t forgotten her coronavirus comments or her “Drunk Wives Matter” hat.
In the video, Kelly blamed the 2020 election that show’s timeslot for the decline in ratings. But she didn’t acknowledge her recent controversies. The reality star even addressed the idea of the networking trying to fire her.
“I don’t have your opinion so you’re writing bull**** articles about me,” Kelly continued in the clip. “This is America, in case you didn’t know, and I’m allowed to have my opinion. And if it doesn’t fit your narrative, then you’re going to try to cancel me.”
Has the RHOC star changed that much?
Some fans feel that Kelly Dodd is a different person. They think she’s changed since she met Fox News reporter Rick Levanthal. Others think she’s been watching too much right-wing media. Kelly often posts Instagram videos of herself watching Rick’s segment.
They miss the Kelly who used to hang out a lot with her daughter, Jodie, and taught her the importance of giving back. Those fans fear that Kelly is gone. However, Kelly is entitled to her opinion. But many are concerned about her lack of awareness lately.
Bravo also find themselves in a difficult position. They fear African-American and LGBTQ+ fans will continue to stop watching RHOC if they keep Kelly on the show. The network will have to make a decision after the season ends. What are your thoughts? Do you think Bravo will fire Kelly?
