TV Shows Ace recently got the chance to talk to Delores Oakes Hughes, better known as Mema from the REELZ show Hollywood Hillbillies. She has a new book coming out and gave us all the details.

How did this book come about?

“My Manager, Dustin Pope, kept telling me that I had a sorry to tell. I thought he was crazy! We would be talking and I’d start telling him different stories and the book conversation would always come up. Well, finally he convinced me and here we are with the release of Mema Says.”

What can fans expect from this book?

“The total and complete truth of my life. I promise, you can expect to laugh, cry, and laugh some more. Oh, and one more thing you might be shocked at times! “

Did you write or use a ghostwriter?

“I worked with a terrific ghost writer who brought my life and stories to paper: Tonia Brown. She and I would talk and I’d tell her all about me, my life, and my families wild ride from Grayson, Georgia all the way to Hollywood. I had a lot of fun reminiscing on my crazy wild life!”

What projects are you working on now?

“Well, to be honest I’m wanting to focus on this project. Mema Says is my first book published and I had a lot of fun working on this! So, this is where my energy is going at the moment!”

Any chance you will return to TV?

“You never can tell. Who knows what’s going to happen. When Hollywood came knocking the first time we were all shocked. But, you never know where you will see me and my family next! But as I’ve always said about everything, if it comes it comes, if it don’t it don’t! I’m ok either way really!”

Make sure you grab Mema Says and read this new book.
