Does ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Plan To Return After Firings, Corona?
The future of Vanderpump Rules has been up in the air. First, the show was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic. Then it was indefinitely on hold with the Bravo firings. Back in June, the network fired Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni for their past racially insensitive comments and actions.
SUR restaurant reopened last month, but filming hasn’t resumed. After losing two of its biggest stars, the network is figuring out how to move forward. There was speculation over whether or not Pump Rules would return for a ninth season. However, an insider claims that it’ll happen no matter what.
Vanderpump Rules will live to see another season
An insider told The Sun that filming is still on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the show must go on at some point. But it’s all a matter as to when. The anonymous source said that Bravo hasn’t canceled Pump Rules and will resume filming “after COVID.” The series plans to return without Stassi and Kristen.
“They are still planning to move forward with the Vanderpump Rules season,” the insider told the British outlet. “Of course that could change but the plan, for now, is that it’s on.”
Producers are scrambling to find new cast members. They want to find the right personalities who can replace Stassi and Kristen, who lost their jobs in June after they filed a police report against former cast member Faith Stowers. Not only that, but their public relations teams also cut ties with them. Max and Brett were fired for their past racially insensitive tweets, which resurfaced before Season 8 premiered.

“They’ve tried to add cast — like Scheana Shay’s boyfriend Brock, but he doesn’t want to be a cast member like that — and they haven’t been able to add anyone because of COVID and the subsequent pause on everything,” the source explained. “They’d need the other cast to meet those people in person and see their chemistry because that’s so crucial to making the actual show.”
Restaurants are open in the state of California. However, only outdoor seating is permitted. Filming won’t resume since the state continues to battle the pandemic at large. Also, producers aren’t looking to fire anyone else since they’re trying to fill the cast.
Who’s returning to the show?
According to the report, Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor, Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz, Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy, and Scheana Shay all plan to return to the series. As for Lala Kent, she’s had doubts about returning to Season 9. The former model has gotten more private since she’s expecting a baby with fiance Randall Emmett.

As TV Shows Ace previously reported, she wants to see what the future holds before she decides to return. Her pregnancy has already changed her perspective. She’s not sure if she wants to create drama when she’s becoming a mom. If Lala were to make a return, she would be more “delicate” with her cast members.
