Duggar Dads Try A Labor Simulation On ‘Counting On’
TLC shared a new clip for an upcoming episode of Counting On. The clip features John-David and Josiah Duggar trying out a labor simulation. In the clip, both John and Josiah get a glimpse into what it’s like to be pregnant as well. The scene is filmed at a birthing class for John’s wife Abbie and Josiah’s wife Lauren. Both of the daughters-in-law are pregnant with their first babies in the current season.
First, the men try wearing fake baby bumps and try to get comfortable laying down. Josiah says this makes him get why Lauren wants to sleep with a pillow between her legs.
Abbie gets to control the electronic device that simulates the labor pains as John and Josiah experience them. Throughout the process, Lauren coaches the two Duggar men. As things are just getting started, John requests an epidural.
Abbie jokes with John, saying, “Your body was made to do this.” John says that it hurts and it feels like he was being electrocuted. Eventually, Josiah removed the device from his stomach.
When the Counting On clip ends, John says it helped him to be more empathetic and understand what Abbie would be going through. But, he realizes that it will be much worse for her when she’s actually in labor.
Jim Bob Duggar reveals he tried a labor simulation
In an interview while on Counting On, Jim Bob talks about trying a labor simulation himself. The dad of 19 tried this years ago. After going through a simulation, Jim Bob truly realized what his wife went through while giving birth. So, he now has a greater appreciation for her. He says, “I learned a lot. I think it really makes the husband appreciate the wife more.”

Counting On Season 11
This season of the TLC features all kinds of exciting moments for the family. Specifically, several babies are born. Of course, the season will include family gatherings and celebrations. And, the press release even hints at the possibility of a courtship. As of right now, it’s not clear who’s courting. But, for a while now, Duggar fans have speculated about who will be courting next.
Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth will no longer be on the show. This was confirmed by Derick Dillard, as reported by TV Shows Ace.
